Nice catch. I personally like my display on my MS with speed, nav, batt use, etc on the dash behind the wheel. For me to wander my eyes to the center display is distracting. I think being used to mirrors the screen location will be fine but I will need some time getting used to the center screen.....because of my age I guess.

A European Lexus. I like this eye level view better than cameras built into the fender flares on the concept. I am sure the Tesla designers could make the camera pod design look awesome for the CT.

At first glance is just looks like a mount for a door tweeter, really common place for the to go. BUT.. it does looks like a great place for a screen. However i would have thought it would have been bigger.
What's a door tweeter?

I think the fender flare will be fine considering the ride height. It also alleviates a major issue most trucks have, which is gigantic blind spots.

No, you are correct. It makes no sense to mount the side view screens on the center screen.

Wow great catch OneLapper, I did a screen grab from a ride video of the night of the reveal. That looks like the perfect place for a side monitor. Look at how big the pillar is and how the windshield does a Z. It makes sense!

That "big pillar" could make for a BIG BLIND SPOT. Good thing the CT has all those sensors!

I noticed that as well. The large A-pillars with an offset design will definitely hinder your vision.

On a side note. Do you think this is a new CT and not the one from the reveal? 2nd prototype maybe. There are some differences. Like the mono color dash and these door changes.

The photo I posted was from a video the night of the reveal.

That last one is a model 3 tweeter. It is a small speaker that is used to produce high pitched tones in your audio system. Think the exact opposite of a subwoofer.

On the Center console issue.
For us mini drivers this will be no problem. :)
You get used to stuff in center real fast.
Really hope we get the sideview camra's and be located as in picture.

That's what I was thinking. The close up pictures to not appear to be the same truck that Franz drives up in.

Willing to bet they have more than one prototype, being all stainless they are probably just much harder to decipher.

High range of audio is highly directional. In order to get the high notes to the driver, there's often a tweeter (very small speaker that responds to higher frequency inputs) in the door or A-pillar facing the driver. The Sub, conversely, reproduces deep, low sounds that are omnidirectional which makes it difficult to discern where the sound originates. Plus, bass speakers are typically large since they vibrate slower and move more air due to their size.

I did notice Jay Leno looking at this as he takes the truck around a corner in the video.
It looked to me as he was checking the rear left wheel didnt clip the corner.
