Two if you have mentioned gantry cranes but I do not think that’s a factor in it needing yo be concrete. Boeing has massive gantry cranes to move huge sections of aircraft and their buildings are steel construction. They are also massive open spaces without columns.
itwill be interesting to see...
I’m actually quite curious why some of it is concrete frame and roof construction and some is steel. Maybe someone more familiar with structural engineering can enlighten me.
could just be 3% narrower since the reasoning was how tight it was in the boring tunnel. If you look at the video height and length were not an issue, just width.
but again....just a guess
^^this^^
we can speculate, but it would all be pure guesswork. Elon was a big tease when he said they would show an updated version a month or so back in November....
wait until you have to do an emergency maneuver and try to grab the wheel that isn't there. Think of the last time you had to turn the wheel fast, for me at least, its hand over hand, for example steering out of a slide or skid.
cant do that with the yoke.
That being said, i am also a pilot...
Its an intriguing concept.
I am wondering (and this is not just about your design) if any canopy will work on the CT? there does not seem to be any place you can attach it. I dont think clamps would work as you could potentially bend the track the rolling vault cover goes into.
I honestly think it was a big mistake for Elon to state this during the reveal. You know people are just crazy enough to test it. "Hey bubba, my trucks bulletproff wanna see? Hold my beer!"
you also know the liability lawyers are just waiting for the first incident where someone gets shot...
That is assuming they win. Could be just a disasterous in bad press if they came in last or the truck broke down.
As for the advertising they don't really need it. They don't spend on advertising now and Tesla is a household name.
What would be the upside for Tesla to do it? Offroad racing is a very small market. Tesla isn't involved in racing anywhere that I am aware of. So why start now?
I am certainly hoping Tesla is forthcoming with this info. Unlike cars, Trucks have a huge aftermarket following for things like brush guards, winch bumpers, etc.
I would not be surprised if they were going to put a loop in underground from the employee parking lot to the plant. Maybe have multiple stops inside the plant for workers to get to and from their parking lots quicker and to work faster. Think subway
This is what happens when you thumb your nose at federal regulations and turn everything over to for profit companies. but it's the wind turbines fault!
