Your Hilux is comparable to a Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Grand Cherokee in size, weight, and wheel base.
Your Hilux is not comparable to a Dodge 2500 in size, weight, and wheel base.
That is why you don't see full size pickups where your Hilux can go.
I think people are losing focus. The CT is...
I wasted Saturday and Sunday thinking my local Target knew what they were talking about. My bad. I'm sure I would have found one on Saturday if I had just gone to next closest store. Grrrrr.
Oh well, I was just going to keep it on the dash of my car, right where I keep the CT ornament. It's...
I did some napkin math on the CT, my house electric bill, and compared that to the 40mpg diesel car I have.
Connecticut now has some of the most expensive electricity in the country, and because of that, there's little to no cost savings to propel the CT vs my diesel car.
A majority of the...
My local Target spent three day telling me "its in the system but not here yet" only to find out they were not a store getting it.
Yesterday I called 10 or more stores that showed inventory. All but Enfield CT was willing to check inventory over the phone. Even though inventory online showed...
IMO, you'll make some side money with a car dolly and a 20' deck between equipment trailer. Maybe a small open car trailer.
I don't think the CT is up for hot shot work. I've seen one F350 single rear wheel with a two car wedge attached. It just didn't make sense to me.
I have a neighbor...
It's looking just "?"??
Not looking on ??
or looking like da' ??
I'm hoping for a little bit more excitement from Elon.
Oh well, maybe he's hard to please. Or maybe he's disappointed. Or maybe he pulled an all nighter since he posted that at about 2am PST.
Getting shot at is certainly rare, but it happened to me.
I posted this here elsewhere, but it's relevant to this thread as well.
In the mid 2000's in CT on Rt 84, several people were shot by a young man who was just literally shooting at cars on the highway. I don't think anyone was killed...
Drivers literally jumping out of their sliding cars?
Drivers standing in the road as cars slide towards them?
And one lady gives the "WTF" arms in the air as the Volvo just misses her?
That there's Darwin's finest.
Best leave the snow to the northern states...... that them there Texans'...
Good point
I passed working wind turbines on my way to work this morning, and it's snowing here!
Edit: Nevermind. Just read post 33. Heated blades. Makes sense.
A pintle is common for equipment trailers. They are universal and very robust. Camper trailers would not use a pintle hook. But, since you can slide anything into the receiver tube, it's common to need three different ball sizes for different trailers!
The euro ball/hitch combos usually have...
There's still the mystery of how she drank that entire bottle of vodka but only left the car ONE time in 30 hours. I swear she must have peed some where, some how. We laughed about that for hours on the drive home.
I say this, she could drink and she could ski! She was way better at both...
Good grief! That thing must cost a fortune!
The US spec "euro style" hitch for my BMW 328d wagon was around $600. Totally invisible when not in use.
I bought a "concealed crosstube" setup from eTrailer.com for $125. Most never even notice it.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what Tesla...
Oh yeah, major fail.
It took her 2.5 hours to drive from one side of Greece to the other. 30 hours killed her. She bought a huge bottle of vodka and slept in the back of my Volvo wagon for 90% of it.
Quick story about the relative size of Texas, and this country.
In college I dated a woman from Greece that was on the Olympic ski team. We decided to drive to New Mexico to visit a friend and ski for a week, during spring break. Massachusetts to New Mexico and back in 10 days.
In short...
I bet we're going to see some different receiver/hitch options available.
A 14k pound receiver on the single motor 7500 pound rated CT doesn't make financial sense to me.
The under bumper panel has a removable access panel to expose the underside of the hitch.
The receiver tube slides "up" into the hitch.
This setup completely hides the receiver frame when it's not in use.
It looks something like this:
