a lot of trucks will come with a hitch standard, but that isn't always the hitch you'll want. most trucks will come with a mid-tier hitch that's capable of towing a pretty sizable amount of weight, but if you want to get into large travel trailers or towing heaving loads, you would probably need to upgrade to something bigger.

it'll be interesting to see if the Cybertruck comes standard with a hitch and if it does, will the hitch that comes with each motor option be able to tow the max capacity of that option.

Have you looked at the Model Y configurator or talked to anyone in the showroom?
No. Unfortunately all my recent conversations with Tesla employees have been in the Service department.

Depending on how much power the electric Hummer and other new EV trucks that are coming out are gonna push, I wouldn't be surprised if the Tri-Motor / Plaid Cybertruck get it's power numbers boosted up even higher to match or beat the competitiion.

Are the cybertruck specs really achievable for the price listed? if so, why have the other manufacturers not built anything like it? Ram TRX is pretty badass but still doesn't compare and it will be EXPENSIVE. How does Tesla get 3500lbs payload and 16" of ground clearance with air suspension that can drop it to the ground? TRX has a measly 1300lbs payload and 8000lbs towing.
If Elon says he can do it for this price, he can. The rest of the manufacturers are obsessed with profit, and to a certain point, they're victims of their own circumstance. They've been building ICE engines for over 100 years, and they get more complex every year. They have to build an ICE engine that uses thousands of parts, then a transmission to go with it, thousands more parts. BEV motors are more simple, and no tranny is needed. No radiator, either. No fuel pump, water pump, oil pump, air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, no oil pan, starter motor, solenoid, coils, spark plugs and wires, shall I go on? The list is long, and not having to build and install all these parts makes a vehicle cheaper. The single most expensive item on a BEV is the battery. And it looks like Elon is chipping away at the cost of the battery, to where soon electric cars will be cheaper than fossil fueled cars. So, to answer your question, yeah. Fuck yeah.

To be fair to the OP, this was posted well before Battery Day. We can now see the bigger picture of HOW this can be done with the following:

1. Half price battery packs due to new 4870 cell
2. Cheaper, smaller, more efficient manufacturing facilities
3. World's largest steel stamping press
4. No paint (single most expensive part of the manufacturing process outside the pack costs, btw)
5. Never done before body style (it's not there to look pretty, it's there to be cost effective and durable)
6. Dedicated and streamlined product offering (only 3 options, not 50+ combinations like traditional manufacturers)

The list goes on and on, with Tesla in general but especially CT. It's designed to be ground breaking on all aspects, including cost to manufacture for the quality you'll receive.

But, they are a competitor from at least one point of view. Tesla literally stole the sale of an F350 Platinum which I was planning on. Instead, I sold my truck and am waiting on a Cybertruck. That's minus one F-350 sale for Ford this year compliments of Tesla.
Same here. Was planning on buying a F-150 or maybe a Chevy this time around (I've only bought Fords for the last 20 years), but as soon as I saw the Cybertruck, I realized this is what I'd been waiting for!!! Ford lost me forever to Tesla

No Exhaust system, no catalytic converter!
