If they were actively building the factory or line i think it wold be an issue, but they just arent at that point yet. Think about all of the things that are still happening despite workforces working remotely. Selecting of a location is still happening, negotiations/permitting/etc are still happening. Engineers are still designing the tooling need for this vehicle (though i believe to tooling is significantly LESS than any other vehicle produced today.) Other engineers are still working on the design of the CT. Prototyping is about the only thing that cant happen right now, and as with Space-X, I think Tesla will have no problem making up ground there. People keep forgetting they are making this vehicle with a simple design and able to have it fly off the assembly line at a fast rate. (highly automated assembly, as few touch points as possible)

I agree, price can be another thread, but I personally dont see them changing the price. If they are sitting on 600K orders, there are still 2 years of people in that list that can afford to purchase and will purchase despite others' economic challenges. I think you will just see people sitting on their reservation numbers a bit longer is all.

I agree. I think one of Tesla’s goals is to build a vehicle such as the CT with machines. It might actually be possible with this minimalist truck design and how they can still make a healthy profit (30%?) at the revealed price points of $40k, $50k and $70k. It would be fascinating to have a pickup truck assembly plant that is nearly 95% automated and using a very limited amount of skilled labor on the assembly line.

I'm with Elon on this. The panic is way worse than the virus. Shutting down everyone to protect the vulnerable is ridiculous. It just a cold, yes a particularly nasty one but there is another way to do this. Quarantine the vulnerable and let everyone else get on with their lives. I know this sounds harsh but in june and july if this drags on it will be the only solution anyway. I'm purely saying this because I want CT now and if a few boomers have to... ?
Finally, someone with some sense. Folks, the black plague killed 1/3 of the european populace. Compared to the current 1% death rates, this is just a nasty cold. But since the media is giving the CDC and the WHO all the attention they ever wanted, we have everyone in a panic, and the big winners are the MEDIA, because everyone is glued to the Covidian news. Most of us who get this will probably never even know, or get tested. We will look back at this one day and say "Never again!". Sheez. Meanwhile, is there a fastrack to the Cybertruck?

That's a great question. Tesla was never about how many cars of S3XY style could be built, but rather how advanced can they make a personal electric vehicle? That evolution is maturing well. The CT, is a new driving ethos- which is - I really WANT to drive this machine, while the Tesla S3XY ethos was that the machine wants to drive you and ridesharing folk, around! Clearly Elon and his kind will soon be FSD driven around in a S, Y or X. His real passion like mine is Cybertruck! So folks, S or X don't take up much room in Fremont, but the final assembly of the CT could be started there, SOON. Shift 3 and Y production to Giga-Tenn, Germany and China. Ipso, get crackin on CT next year. 2021. USA. FSD. PLAID. OFF. THE. WALL.. CYBER. TRUCKIN. NOW!

Folks, The bad news is a CT factory is going to be needed at all. I'm sure Giga Berlin has ground to a halt. The Americans returned home. Giga Shanghai is limping along. Tesla doesn't have e enough cash to self fund it, and the credit markets are crashing. In fact Tesla is badly under capitalized for the coming recession. Delay of Giga Cybertruck may be the least of it's worries...
Well, just for that your name has been dropped from the reservation list. Now don't throw a tantrum because you're gonna be number 680,000.
(Just kidding, I see you're kind of a Ford guy, like me. After watching my '03 F150 rust to pieces, I can't wait to get my hands on my new CT either. But no worries, my good friend Elon has this under control, the CT WILL roll our mid 2021)

I'm glad. Explain your original post to the Administrator. In another post I suggested that maybe Y and 3 be shifted to Giga Tenn, and to start CT soon at giga fremont which is is where he lives. Rapid prototyping a la Space X...
