I just had a thought. I know this has nothing to do with the CyberTruck, but I didn't have anyplace else to share it. Has anyone considered the possibility of converting the Tesla Semi into a RV? Lengthen the chassis to say 30 to 40 feet long, lengthen the cab to fit over the chassis, add doors, windows, beds, kitchen, etc... Any thoughts?

Honestly what was it like 3 years ago when they first announced the Tesla semi I seriously wanted to get one and turn it into an RV. now I'm thinking the cyber truck might be enough for me and my family.but I would seriously want to do this at some point.

I remember this being posted somewhere. It's a very cool concept RV based on the Tesla Semi...
Thanks Hungedu. I hadn't seen that before. It looks more like a bus, but it's kind of what I had in mind.

I have no doubt electric RV’s are in our immediate future.
There is a lot of real estate on top of a RV and with current and developing technology in solar panels, batteries and to include advancements in efficient appliances we can see an all electric Motorhome in the not to distant future.
I myself will be very interested in this to replace my diesel pusher.

Napkin calcs. Typical big panel is approx 3 x 5 feet On a 40 foot RV, 7 feet wide, you could get one row of 5 ("portrait mode) + one row of 13 ("landscapes mode") = 18 panels. At 360 W and an Enphase 250 W invert, that's basically 250 W. x 13 x 5.5 avg hours = 17kWh (the panels will peak etc but 5.5 is the "average" for taking that into account).

So let's say you use 5kWh to power the RV, 12 to charge the batteries, after a week at the campground you have 60kWh to travel on. That's at least enough to get 100 miles? Maybe 200 miles? Or to the next supercharger.

So you could do all on solar if you're retired and just spending time before moving on. Or at least helps out the charging budget a lot. It's doable. And of course, most campgrounds will have a place to plug in anyways.

And if there is a folding system on top to double the solar array you could conceivably double the range.

I agree on the campground method. Solar is nice for the zombie apocalypse but do we really have to re-invent the wheel. Just plug it in like an air freshener and be done with it.

Hmmm, doesn’t the (unloaded) Semi do 0-60 in like 5 seconds? So a full sized RV would go 0-60 in like ... 6 to 7 seconds?
That would be mind blowing to have it be able to outdrag many (if not most) ICE cars.

And quite a few tip overs on mountain roads when they forget why RVs should go slow... :)

Tesla could be about to create the most-desirable vehicle as a basis for RVs on the planet. Can the semi directly connect to a 5th-wheel camper? I don't know if the 5th wheels on semis and campers are compatible with each other. If not, it should be reasonably easy to adapt.

To increase solar charging picture a roll up awning covered in solar panels. This level of flexibility is almost doable today. Deploying the awning when parked could potentially triple your solar power.
