I wanted an open and high ceiling like the rest of my house and attached garage. Like you said, it can be useful for extra storage. I was thinking about a double car lift above the Cybertruck. There is plenty of room for it.
I've already built a custom new garage for the Cybertruck, and it will fit in there just fine. My NSX is not a daily driver beater. I only have 22,000 miles on it. I have a Hummer H3 for that, and it's not likely to make it past 200,000 miles without some major engine overhaul.
I had a Countach poster on my wall in the late 80s and had the actual car in my garage 10 years later. Like you said, it was a maintenance nightmare, so I replaced it with an NSX, which I still have today.
I've had a car depreciate by $50K and another car appreciate by $60K. You never know how things may work out or what may eventually become a collector's item.
When I first watched the online reveal of the Cybertruck that night, my exact thoughts were, "That thing is ugly, but yet so beautiful. I love it!" I pre-ordered right away.
I think the Cybertruck will probably have a steering wheel that resembles the one in the Corvette C8. It won't be a yoke, but it may not be totally round in shape.
My biggest worry at this point is what if Elon Musk is ousted as CEO as so many investment news sources have speculated? Would this mean that the Cybertruck project could be canceled for being too "risky"? As we already know, most normal and boring car companies have conservative board members...
