If there is a significant difference in cost, when I get mine and it is a nice time of the year (lotta ifs) I may pick up, otherwise I most likely will have it delivered.

Mostly sedans and never owned a truck. Now CT is all I want!

Yes, I would definitely do it but border crossing and insurance would complicate the thing for me.
I hope one day Tesla will be able to have the cars delivered by themselves, driving in FSD.

Elon mentioned also how large the property is, with his conversation about picking them up at the factory. I hope they can use some of that property to make a Cybertruck Offroad Driving Experience. That would be a great way to learn about the capabilities of the CT and how to use it and get out of places when you get stuck. Who knows they may have a creek crossing, where it will FLOAT a little bit.
Oh yeah, I would definitely want to go there and drive it home.

I would love to take a tour and pick up the CT. Our little pressure campaign may have influenced this a little. I would not doubt that someone relays the consensus of this site back to Tesla.

One more time... Come on Elon/Tesla - split the savings on the delivery with us. $750 would cover air for me and my wife :).

It depends when I can actually take delivery. If it's an extremely busy time and I can't take a week off of work then I'll just pay the 2k to have it brought to CA for me. I'd like to make a road trip out of it though, so I hope it's during the slow part of the year.

Definitely going to pick mine up at the factory!! It's about a 260 mile trip for me, so the tri would make it back with no charging stops. Would be pushing it with the dual, I don't exactly get full range with my lead foot and I don't think Tesla delivers with 100% charge. At least my S wasn't.

Tesla delivery charge is a fixed amount wherever you have it delivered.

It will still be charged for factory pickup.

Check with current Tesla owners who picked up in Fremont.
That's good to know. I may as well just have it shipped to the nearest pickup point to sonoma county then.

I am from Canada, so being able to pick up at factory was one my first questions.
I actually inquired when I was at battery day about process of factory pickup, they seemed to be optimistic at that time, depending on state of factory development though.
First reason would be a cool trip and seeing the new factory. Second reason, trying maybe bump up my delivery date.

I would not. But I will track the RORO ship to Netherlands, enquire to pick it up there, and be the first one on the pier whether it’s in NL or NO the day of arrival ?

Reminds me of my summer and Christmas jobs at the largest harbor in Norway while studying, driving new cars off ships all day long. The most fun probably a new Subaru WRX STi full on screaming rally car straight from Japan. BTW, I would diligently check the car for marks if you get it off a tight ship!
