Engineering Explained: If Gas cars are banned, Can The Grid Handle Electric Cars?

Local co-op. About 4,000 customers. Rates much better than SDG&E, but they don't like solar!

Did you notice the Cybertruck has built in steps?

Isn't this the prototype that was built on a frame? It doesn't have a skateboard as far as I know. I admit I could be wrong, just what I thought I knew.

Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so says Musk!

    1) Cybertruck and Rivian are not competing. Different trucks, different uses. (they appeal to many of the same people ONLY because of our paucity of choices) 2) Both Cybertruck and Rivian are going to be in short supply for years. Nobody is going to be shaking in their boots this year. Or...

How Big Is The Interior/Truck Actually?

Actually, decided to lose some weight this year. I am already past 3% smaller (by weight, anyway). So the new dimensions won't feel any different!

Another Baja opportunity to see EV platform perform

Not a problem... they'll just 'take it for a spin'. If they can do 0-60 in 2.9 seconds they'll know you haven't messed with the battery. Of course, they will need the opinion of ALL the officers, so it might take awhile as each of them tries it. :p

Can Tesla Cybertruck Actually Stop Bullets? Technical Analysis by a Firearms Instructor [** NO POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS **]

It's not that they said they aren't, it's that they never claimed they were. And if they were, they would have proclaimed it. They haven't, so they aren't. I believe you are confused because they call it "Armor Glass". Just a name. Smartphones use "Gorilla Glass", but there are no gorillas in...

Who's planning on a Cybertruck factory pickup / delivery

MI insurance may be crazy, I cannot address that. But my insurance automatically insures any new car I buy for 30 days. And once I have title, a phone call adds it to my insurance. I doubt if you really face a problem.

Can Tesla Cybertruck Actually Stop Bullets? Technical Analysis by a Firearms Instructor [** NO POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS **]

I don't want to come across as snide, but "less than in an F150" might be a matter of "less dead". High velocity rifle bullets can penetrate an engine block. Just hope any assailants stick to 9mm FMJ.

If a full size AND mid size Cybertruck were available, what size would you order?

Now you know this is a fib. In the world of EV trucks, there is no "something different". :sneaky: edit to add: to buy, as stated. Future options not under discussion.

Engineering Explained: If Gas cars are banned, Can The Grid Handle Electric Cars?

You need permits to get solar installed (legally anyway). That is how the utility knows the size of system you are getting. So they won't approve the permit for a system over 5kW. Now it is true I could do 1/2 off-grid and 1/2 grid tied. But then I would need two breaker panels without any...

Who's planning on a Cybertruck factory pickup / delivery

Tesla delivery charge is a fixed amount wherever you have it delivered. It will still be charged for factory pickup. Check with current Tesla owners who picked up in Fremont.
