Cross members could be made to fold flush in roof and should be fabricated with aerodynamic tubing. Any added lighting that is not aerodynamic is silly on a Cybertruck

Interesting roof rack concept to take advantage of the entire top of the Cybertruck.

Great graphics and workable design except (in my opinion): the front and rear transverse members need to be omitted so as to facilitate the rack being used for long lengths of pipe, lumber, and ladders. Also, with that enclosed rear piece, there is no way to access the top. You'd need a ladder just to clamber up there. Also, the front support on each side should be directly above the B pillar, thus transferring the weight straight down through the pillar. What Tesla should do is this: Tesla should provide above the B pillar and at the rear on each side, an integrated female, threaded fitting (with a cap to keep out the rain for those who don't need a rack.). Tesla would sell four stainless steel, vertical members threaded to screw down into the stainless female fittings. These factory-integrated pieces from the factory make sure it all fits perfectly. Horizontal members with the correct fittings would come from the factory also. With these pipes and integrated fittings, an owner could have the best of both worlds. Help me out....are my thoughts accurate?

That’s really cool. I bet this would appeal to contractors and weekend warriors.

Wish I could see a render without those silly duellies.

It might work for some, but not for me. That's an ugly rack for such a handsome truck. Cybertruck deserves something a lot better. Like, for starters, something STAINLESS, people. Does it make any sense to buy a SS truck, and then ruin it with a rust-o-matic roof rack? It's gonna leech its rust juices all over the CT, and contaminate it with a layer of surface rust. I don't think so. So first, let's start with a stainless steel rack, and make it longer; it should extend to the middle of the front wheel. I like to load 20' and 24' lengths of pipe, re-bar, lumber, or whatever without worrying about it sticking out 8 feet from the back. But I'm sure there are going to be dozens of companies out there building racks in every configuration we can think of.

I really like the rack idea. But I would definitely make that back mesh or just remove it all together. I still need access to the bed always. I am a highway contractor so I need extra places to mount all of my emergency lights. And the Double rear wheel configuration is a definite yes for me. More weight capability and beat out the HD Truck series from Ford and Chevrolet or even Dodge.

... and the most obvious problem. Those dual rear tires serve absolutely no purpose. You wouldn't be able to pull a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer with the rack in the back. And even then, they don't provide much of a benefit... maybe a little sway control but I never noticed any sway issues with my single rear tires. Anyway, good observations.

Yeah the aftermarket boys are going to have fun when the Cyber truck hits they better be ready...... Even better if Tesla started their own aftermarket shop
Or both! Like Ford has their own aftermarket performance brand. Dodge too, and others I'm sure.

Isn't a bull nose to protect the fragile grille and headlights? The CT has no grille to protect and the headlights are recessed behind ultra hard cold rolled stainless steel. And the lights, why would CT need additional lights added? Doesn't the center bar in conjunction with the roof bar already fill that function? The winch on the other hand....
I had the same thoughts. Though bumper like that is good for mounting other hardware, like a winch. Though it might be a nice option to have it behind the body, which would also preserve the aerodynamics.

The only additional lighting I plan on installing would be IR lights for driving at night with night vision during the apocalypse to avoid detection.
Imagine, no lights, no engine noise, what a great way to sneak around at night undetected. ??

Quite right, but with the S.S. rack made by Tesla, it would be easy to assemble the rack just by screwing it into the integrated fittings, and then take it apart when not needed.

Sweet Yota dude! what year?! My first truck was an 85 4wd
It was an '86. First year with IFS. I did put a 4" lift on it. Drove it for 14 years and 212K miles. Only traded it when the kids came along and that single cab got REALLY small.

This was the "loss leader" for the dealership in LA where I got it. The ONE truck with a super cheap price ($8000) and I happened to show up right after it rolled off the truck. Didn't even have a stereo.
Also my first new vehicle ever, purchased just a week after I graduated college and started my first real job.

Very nice! Mine was far from new, i got it in 2007 shortly before my 16th B-day. paid $5500. It had roughly 300,000 on it. It had the solid axle, 22R carbureted 4cyl. and the "Xtra Cab" which was basically just enough for some tools and my backpack at the time. I miss that truck! I remember drafting semis on road trips to get it over 75mph. but i also had 35" super swampers

Nice concept! I would like to see a shell underneath the rack to make good use of that space for additional vertical storage space above the vault. For the additional lights for off-roaming use, LED light bars to compliment the existing to really light up the road ahead. For the brush guard, make it a bit more aggressive looking and a place for a winch would be perfect! Dualeys not needed on my CT. Solar wings could be mounted on the rack to get the extended range since the vault would be blocked by the rack and in my case, the shell and rack.

I love it
but it will reduce range quite a bit.
I would make it extruded stainless maybe round, maybe square tube, maybe T bar. maybe homemade patent pending (im kidding), triangle bar. actually triangle bar would be pretty cool.
and fully enclosed! since it will be a livable space for me.
hopefully. also it has a great space for fold out solar on top.also also I wouldnt cover the glass on top
its a shame the vault would be kinda useless

This made me think, either Tesla or their supplier should make triangular sticks of their SS. Maybe with an inside profile of 3" x .75". They could sell it to aftermarket companies.
