anything less than the 500 mile range battery has very limited usefulness. These prices are out of control. I could buy a top of the line pickup truck for half this cost.

You're not alone Trevor, our Australian Peso is also fairly weak and means imports, and particularly Tesla's are well and truely a luxury purchase.

But one thing you might want to keep an eye on, is that there are a lot of forces globally and particularly locally for the U.S. that are in a state of high flux !
That means things could be quite different in the world by the time our place in the Cybertruck cue is up,
( in about 2023/2024 for me).

Gold has just reached over $2000 oz. and the U.S. dollar is already weakening.
(Europeans are 10% better off than they were not too long ago)
No one can say for certain, but in my humble opinion, I think it's highly likely that the U.S dollar will be weaker against the Canadian dollar in the next 24 months.

I don't know how much of a difference it will make, but none the less,
The cost of your Cybertruck I suggest will be less

P.S. Not saying the U.S. dollar will devalue by about 80% in 3 years as priced in gold . . . . . .
like it just did for Turkey.

But then again have you seen what the U.S. Fed, has been printing money to buy recently !

Hahaha... My brother is fighting a bad infection, even after they tried cutting it out... never got an MRI while in the hospital, even though 3 were requested. Got moved to a recovery facility, stitches came out, they waited a week to have that fixed... Yeah, waiting times are so much better here.

Having been poor most of my life and my family as well, I find it funny when people who think they are middle class who make 6 or more figures a year. I am doing much better now, but when your poor, even having insurance is no guarantee to decent medical care.

And it could be that Canada does not have the best insurance, but here is what I do not understand. How much money would it take to study the countries that supposedly have good health care, compare and contrast, find solutions for their issues, and then implement that? For any country?

Why knowingly have worse care for your citizens? Only if you care more about money... Many have shown a more holistic approach would actually be cheaper than the hodge-podge system the US has now.

I've certainly heard plenty of horror stories here in Quebec but it turns out to be second best - nearly as good as Ontario. But I had no idea how bad it is overall:

This is the wrong forum to ask about gas prices! But yes, they are well over $1.00/L in Canada. But residential electricity is $0.0884 per kWh where I am (BC) so who gives a poop what gas costs!

Also our health care system is much better than in the US in my (and literally everyone I know's) opinion. I spent all of $0 for my wife to be rushed to the hospital for a 3am emergency C-section when my son was born. They did give me a an $80 Ambulance bill but shortly after sent me a letter saying the fee was waived.

This article references wait times for "elective surgeries". That being said, it states a very long wait time for an ultrasound. I had an ATV accident a few years back in BC. Went to the Dr 3 or 4 days later - just a walk in clinic. Dr. suggested I get an ultrasound but I probably just bruised and would be ok. I got an ultrasound the same day (strange being in the wait room with a bunch of pregnant women!). Cost? $0. Insurance paper/forms to fill out? Just a one page "new patient" form at the clinic with the ultrasound.
Also wait times for pregnant women wanting an ultrasound is pretty minimal. And if there is an immediate need for an ultrasound (ie: pregnancy complications) then it would be same day - or at worst next day appointment.

The only reason the Canadian dollar is low is for trading purposes. If you want a high dollar then jobs in Quebec and Ontario are affected negatively. This is why the dollar is low and will always trending low. These are the only markets that matter. This is why Canada is referred to as the eastern provinces the western provinces and central Canada as the only portion that matters.
Some confederation huh. With Quebec getting the lion share of equalization payments in this confederation because they are the poorest and the most needy. So don’t complain just get used to it. It is not generational but a Canadian legacy.

Don’t worry. I am expecting my tri motor Cybertruck to be around $200,000 Australian Dollars. The concept of world wide pricing is bullshitten by the time governments have their way. A standard Model 3 is $70000..!!!!!

Buying a Tesla in Canada is generally only for the rich. If we compare USD vs CAD pricing, we see a multiplier of about 1.6. This is way beyond the currency exchange rate which is around 1.3. An entry level Model Y will set you back about $80,000 CAD with advanced autopilot.

Single Motor Cybertruck ~$64k + autopilot = $74k CAD
Dual Motor Cybertruck ~$80k + autopilot = $90k CAD
Tri-Motor Cybertruck ~$112k + autopilot = $122k !!!! CAD

And since Canada is both huge and very cold, anything less than the 500 mile range battery has very limited usefulness. These prices are out of control. I could buy a top of the line pickup truck for half this cost.

And for my American friends, no, Canadians do not have higher salaries. we have low salaries and high taxes, and a currency with terrible purchasing power. That's what socialism gets you.
