Automatic tonneau bed cover retracting and deploying

Best look I’ve seen of the automatic tonneau cover in action.

I wonder if you can stop the retracting cover while it covers the rear window. The rearview mirror is camera based anyway so you’d still be able to see behind you with the rear window covered.

I don't want anything to do with the back seats. After giving a few friends and relatives a joyride I will almost definitely rip them out and build something useful in their place. You guys just don't get it. A truck carries things. Heavy things.

Yes, there are four door trucks, but 98 percent of you guys don't have one. What you have is a car with a truck-like feature of a short bed.
If you and three of your 250 pound buddys go fishing, and you each have a hundred pounds of gear, your car is technically overloaded. Look at the springs, look at the door sticker.
Six People? You mean a station wagon. Maybe you can call it a bus... but it's only a truck in the barest minimum. I don't think it even qualifies.

Good question. Stopping the cover at any point would be beneficial.

I must be in the 2% (though statistics say there are a lot more truck owners than 2%...). My F350 (Crew Cab with 8' bed which made the thing 22' long) and I regularly pulled 15,000# of gooseneck trailer and that back seat is absolutely indispensable if you have any kids at all. I mean, the 5 of us would rather take my F350 than the wife's 8 seat Explorer. There is just so much room in the cab and we use it all. And my truck carries heavy stuff.

In fact, I'll bet a lot more than 2% of the people on this forum have trucks. In fact, the Poll shows that 71.2% of the people here are going to replace their current truck with the Cybertruck.

Now, since 71% of the people here have trucks and "it was roughly five years ago that regular-cab production slipped to less than ten percent of total large-pickup output. ", you can easily do the math and see that it is highly likely that 61% or more of us have trucks with rear seats... people like rear seats... especially for work trucks (at least around here, there are always at least 3 guys on a work crew and they have to sit somewhere).
