I am very enthusiastic about having the armor glass in the CT but one question that bugs me a lot is where the armor glass will be sourced. It's a new product not offered by regular automotive glass manufacturers, so will Tesla manufacture those in-house at Giga Texas (I see on Wikipedia that most patents are expired) or will Tesla contract a supplier/manufacturer/s (Surmet Corporation?) that will supply aluminum oxynitride glass? Is there enough manufacturing capacity for an initial run of let's say 50 000 Cybertrucks in the first 18 months? If Tesla wants to put this armor glass standard on each CT, this might be a bottleneck. There's still a possibility that this type of glass will be offered only as an expensive option...
Would really like to hear from some people with the knowledge on this subject or any constructive speculation really.

The flip side of having so many exotic materials is hoping you never have to replace them!

If the glass is to be outsourced, Surmet ALON could be a candidate per Sandy Monroe. Keep in mind that the Semi is supposed to be getting this glass too.
