I can drop that 700 miles to 125 on a regular day. It's not just a EV issue but specific work(physics definition of work) still requires a set amount of energy. It will truly be the start of the New World when battery energy density is that of petroleum. Won't happen for years though.
Starlink won't be on any of Tesla's passenger vehicles. Elon was asked about putting them on the cars and he said no but maybe on the Semi. It could've changed since this was before the unveiling if I recall.
This. They might cancel the 250 mile version if it can't reach 300 miles with the new battery tech but use a bigger battery. The Model Y will come RWD(China Model 3 has an option as well for RWD). So the RWD option is reserved for their low tier cars.
Technically Tesla is at level 5 in alpha form in non-geofenced areas. Level 3 means hand off and Tesla could do that but regulators wouldn't allow it. If any company has a production vehicle that's level 3 then it's geofenced if I'm not forgetting anyone. People forget that the public access...
I feel like this is going to be similar to a clutch. As soon as I get in a vehicle and there's no clutch I have a mini panic attack then immediately feel disappointed.
Elon always mentions the machine that builds the machine. He believes that that factories themselves are products that are more important than what is made in them.
As I said I fully expect them to make the Roadrunner batteries right beside the Cybertruck truck. As for the Semi, it's super low volume but takes 10x the batteries of a Model S per truck which is why I put it after Model S/X. If they have the volume and the production line(Semi) then it could...
There is currently one Tesla that I know of with 1,000,000 KM not miles(replaced batteries twice). But the new 1,000,000 mile batteries are not going to the high volume vehicles until they have a GigaFactory dedicated to it. They will be making it close to Fremont in a building with 156,057 sq...
Their considering a flip-stop so the bed would be like an 8ft, allowing 4x8 plywood. Function is subjective as well as form. I dont need to haul plywood but my equipment and materials do fit in a 6.5ft bed. It's functional for me. It's form for me.
If Tesla had this property for a year the factory would have been complete. Did you not see the progress on the factory in Shanghai? I don't even think ownership is set in stone yet.
