And in a month? Is the curve flat enough? I am fully complying with the 15 day plan but what comes next? We had 3 months to prepare, is 15 days going to cure the dereliction?
15 days is a joke. Even Trump has admitted this could easily drag on till July or Aug. Start preparing for this to last till then at least.

The ideal behind a 15 day sequester is not only to reduce / stop transmission, it also to allow those infected to become ill in isolation and treat with flattened curve.

without proper testing, intelligent decisions cannot be made and decisions required are based on worse assumptions since reacting to best scenario hopes when reality is middle to worse, affects will be far worse.

My fear is next winter when the virus can rise again, while some research says the virus may not die down as much as a typical flu in summer, will hit us harder than today. Reasoning due to all the efforts will reduce impact, opinion will feel overreaction took place and be too lax next winter.

I’m pessimistic a vaccine will be ready by next winter. I hope I am wrong.

We need to test, test and test So intelligent decisions can be made. Oh, and stop buying so much toilet paper.

I'm 'distancing' myself in a small home with three young adult dependents. This is tough! You have to learn the right behaviors, safe routines and survival habits! The youngsters don't get it, they all will inevitably be infected. My dream of even surviving to take delivery of the CT seems distant right now! One suggestion: get seamstresses to supply cloth, reuseable masks for your families and health care workers in your locales! Approved patterns are on the web
Pay it forward, thanks.

Santa Maria police ask public not to call about people walking outdoors

KEYT
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Police Department said they have been receiving a copious amount of calls ever since Governor Newsom ordered Californians to stay at home during this coronavirus crisis.
Police said the calls have been from concerned community members reporting other community members outside of their homes.
Officers are asking the community to stop calling their Communications Center to express frustrations about seeing people outside as Gov. Newsom's order does not prohibit going outside.

The Police Department said it hopes residents follow the order to stay at home and avoid gathering in groups, however, police will not be ordering residents to leave parks or public walkways.
Fortunately, police said they have seen a substantial reduction in car and pedestrian traffic which indicates the Santa Maria community is following this order.

If people don't follow social distancing while they exercise outside, popular open spaces like the Pismo Preserve could close according to police.
The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County took to Facebook to ask hikers at the Pismo Preserve to maintain a 6-foot distance from other people.
If hikers continue to disobey this rule, officials said the open space could close.

Tesla Closing New York, California Factories in Response to Coronavirus
Decision to halt EV and solar factory production comes as governments in both states are urging residents to stay home.

Tesla will close its California EV factory on March 23.

Tesla will close both its Fremont, California factory, where it produces electric vehicles, and its Buffalo, New York factory, where it produces solar and energy storage products, the company said Thursday.
The decision to shutter operations in those two states comes after urging from local governments. On Monday, six San Francisco Bay Area counties — including Alameda County, where the Fremont plant is located — enacted “shelter in place” orders.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk told employees in an email that night that he would “personally be at work” despite the order, which went into effect on Tuesday. In its Thursday statement, Tesla acknowledged meetings with local, state and federal officials over the last several days. On Friday, New York ordered all nonessential businesses to close and asked residents to stay home as much as possible.
Tesla’s California vehicle factory will officially suspend work aside from "basic operations" on March 23, and the Buffalo factory will also stop work aside from producing “parts and supplies necessary for service, infrastructure and critical supply chains,” Tesla said. The company’s Nevada Gigafactory will remain open, and Tesla said its cash on hand “is sufficient to successfully navigate an extended period of uncertainty.”

Minimum 3months is my guess...

I am not attempting to be alarmist, I am sharing the following observations as people on this forum are likely early adopters and information below is around reputable sources and based on facts or statistics.

C19 spreads before symptoms arise, these appear at an average of 5 days and statistics overall globally are logarithmic.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

I am expecting minimum delays at a minimum of 3 months because at the current logarithmic growth, without serious prevention/isolation, the majority of the global population will have it or had it by ~June.

Hopefully stories like a healthy Italian town on the Australian website below become the norm.(tell me if you can’t read due to your location and I’ll copy text)
