Elon Musk has just updated that that the Cybertruck will remain the concept's size, reversing his recent statement that it will be reduced by around 3% in size for production.

He also announced that Tesla will probably do a separate smaller Cybertruck model at some point! The booming mid-size pickup space has been put on notice ;)

See Musk’s tweet below.

I was actually hoping for a CyberTruck more in line with the size of an F-550 ... the current size is still too small. Lol

After watching the video clip from the upcoming Jay Leno's Garage episode, I believe the Cybertruck looks great as is. This is actually great news. I've been building a new garage in my yard to accommodate the current Cybertruck dimensions, anyway.

So pleased at news that 3% changes are not in-play as it cut into an already released product design. This keeps Cybertruck sacrosanct.

Tesla can now loft a Cybertruck proper, run its Baja 1000 cred up and deliver on the Cyber bits without there being any confusion in the messaging. \: Make no mistake a little garage did not stop Cybertruck. Truck meant it don't need no garage. <sarcasm off> graphics to follow in advertisements :))

All I can say is thank you Elon for not messing with the concepts dimensions. It’s perfect!!! I am curious though if the window sills and center line will be changed from the concept.

A Ford Raptor is 86.3“ wide without mirrors and the CT concept is 79.8“ wide which is no accident. Tesla avoids the expense of installing running lights and associated wiring that vehicles over 80” require like the Raptor per the government mandate.

If you make a vehicle that’s over 80 inches wide, it starts to fall into various "commercial vehicle" categories, and one of the requirements of vehicles this size is that they have — in the words of our government — "three amber front and three red rear identification lamps spaced between 6 and 12 inches apart at the center of the front and rear of the vehicle, as high as practicable."
