What will you tow with your Cybertruck?

I want to tow a race car to a racetrack for weekend fun. I’ll probably get an enclosed trailer to lower drag. Unfortunately the track is 160 miles from my house and there are several mountains in the way so range will be tight with the dual motor.

I am planning on towing a fairly heavy travel trailer, about 8K lbs dry weight. I would opt for a fifth wheel but with those side pillars on the CT that just isn't going to work. The main question I have is how the auto pilot or FSD will work with pulling a trailer. I understand that there is a trailer mode on the X but with it on auto pilot does not work. I am hoping with auto pilot that my wife will feel comfortable enough to give me a break with driving or make it easier to drive with a trailer. I have the tri-motor CT pre-ordered and figure that even with the 500 mile range the trailer pulling range is probably going to be about half that...and that's ok. One other concern has to do with utilizing a super charging station with a trailer and I hope that there will be pull-through options in the future.

Just a thought, when you are towing a trailer the "footprint" of the vehicle is lengthened and additional weight is added and the vehicle has no way to enter that data so as to make changes in how it occupies the lanes or powers the drive motors. Also, rear sensors would be blocked by the trailer. Everything changes, and not for the better. I use this same rule of thumb when on the Interstate by NO Cruise Control when it is raining, Everything Changes, and in the rain, I want to be totally in control of how the vehicle is going to act. Hydroplaning is a real killer.

I don't think it's that bad. The current lot of Teslas have power measurement capability, accellerometers and, I assume, clinometers so they have at least a rough idea as to the gross weight of tractor plus trailer. In addition to that one informs the car that he is towing by selecting "tow mode". This, presumably, takes into account at least some of the things you are concerned about.

I've written before about how it might be a good idea to connect the trailer hitch through a load cell.

With the slope of the bed and not wanting to give up the bed of the truck. I think I found this perfect application for towing a 5th wheel and leaving the bed open for storage and trip usage. It also has years of proven reliability from all of my research.

We'll be towing a 22' travel trailer that has a GVWR of just shy of 6000#. It's a Grand Designs 17MKE. We also have the CT trip-motor pre-ordered. I haven't heard much about the CT and braking capability when towing. I'm hoping to see more detail and tests related to towing as we get closer to production. It would be amazing is the FSD could assist with backing the trailer, but we'll see. We live in the western part of the country, so plenty of mountain roads.

I plan on towing an aluminum deck-over triple axel helicopter trailer with a
2,400 pound Bell Jet Ranger 5 place helicopter.

Probably won't tow much of anything. But I will use the hitch receiver. I have a bike rack that mounts to a receiver. We also like to use a cargo carrier like the one below. It will be nice to have the air suspension for that. On other vehicles when I load up the cargo carrier it makes my headlights point up into oncoming driver's eyes.

26 feet boat, 30 feet long trailer. 3500 pounds. Very dificult with my old Mazda. With the Cybertruck i will be able to go easily to the Great Lakes and almost everywhere in North America. Without paying a fortune in gas. Can't wait for the Cybertruck
