Let’s do some math:
Model X (used as comparison)
~39 kW / 100 miles of range
$0.15/kW (in CA)
((39 * 0.15)/100) = ~$0.0585 per mile
$2000/0.0585=34,188 miles that what it worth!
If it gives you15 miles/ day for free:
34,188/15 = 2,279 days you need for charging your 15 miles for free. Or 6.244 years for every day, and this every day is supposed to be a sunny day!!!
Do you still think it worth $2000???

Yes, I do.

My round trip commute to work is 14 miles. Even if I only get 1/2 that, that means my commute (and the phantom drain, etc) combined with the solar panel energy will mean less frequent charging. It will also mean that if it is just sitting for an extended time (in the sun), it probably will not drain the whole battery pack.

I think that at most it would be worth to me is $2,000. I am guessing it will be less than $1,000, but I did the math and $2,000 is the most I would pay.

There are all kinds of add-ons and features on cars I do not understand why people think they are worth that... but then again I always try to get all weather mats, especially for the cargo area, of cars I have gotten in the past. I probably never got the $200-300 value I paid for them from the dealer (I have had people tell me a steam clean of the carpets would have been cheaper).

I still get them and I still think they are worth it. I also think the solar panel vault cover will be worth it.

How could anyone put Gasoline savings ??? Why is there 6 years? Why not 3, 2, or 8-10? Just because Tesla wanna show attractive numners?

it is same as Toyota put on a website "Price Savings" for example:
TESLA costs $37 990, Corolla costs $19 600. INSTANT SAVING $18 390!!!

ICE car is cheaper as a default, I do not care about $4300 "gas savings" if the car itself gives me $18390 instant savings just not to buy a tesla

I currently have 2 Toyota Corollas for my business. 14 recalls, bad customer service, cheep Tupperware interior, too small for anyone over 5'8", rust, bad paint, bad transmission, & weak metal skin. but the engine is solid for 178k miles and still going. I would prefer a better car.

Thank you guys for the cost analysis, it gives me a good idea what it will cost me to purchase the tri-motor. I hope that the FEDS reconsider the $7500 EV incentive. My state has no alternative energy incentives unfortunately.

I'm not a fan of either candidate, but the potential for an EV friendly administration does pique my interest.

We're a bit spoiled here in Oregon. No sales tax and up to $5,000 in EV incentives.

As much as I would love to pay less, the EV incentive is designed to help the company enter the market and also produce a catalyst for demand. Tesla has become well established as well as demand for CT is strong. I think it's more fiscally responsible to give those credits to other brands working their way into the market or other technologies.

EVs are still a tiny portion of vehicles on the road.

And by sunsetting the credit like they did, they've not encouraged car companies to complete the transition to electric.

As i know many tesla M3 owners complain about absolutely same problems, bad paint, leaks in frank/trunk, and so on...
And I do not think M3 is bigger and more comfortable for anyone over 5’8”.

Okay, let see how much would I have to take out from pocket for my 3 motor:
$69,900 Cybertruck
$7,000 FSD
$1,200 Destination & Doc fee (this number is taken from website, checked on Model 3 and X)
$7,810 (Est. tax for CA)
so total $85,910
Plus for ATV
90k is what is the real price is going to be with no Loan fee

It is still less expensive than a Model X and much more utilitarian. I hope you are saving for your down payment. I am going to try and have 1/2 of total cost to put down.

I was close to buying a used Model X when Cybertruck was introduced. I’m glad I put a deposit down when I did. It will be a game changer. Wife already says we’re not selling the Tundra(18K miles on it). She wants to use it for hauling stuff..

WELL MY FRIEND, The EV era is going to flourish soon (at least that is what I am reading, I hope) and the USA is going to lead in this renewable energy technologies. Tesla is leading and hope that Musk will contribute and help smaller ally USA start ups that are honestly in it to make big changes. Companies and shorties that tried to squeeze AND PUT Tesla OUT OF BUSINESS and NOT ENCOURAGE EV TECHNOLOGY need to be pushed out so that new honest companies replace them.
