The MY is pretty big on the inside. I wouldn't try to put 2 carseats in the back but if your kids don't need car seats, the Y is pretty decent. I have 3 girls still at home (though the College Junior needs to find her own place...) and the MY is a bit tight for 5 of us. Though there is plenty of storage for a trip with 5, there isn't really enough elbow room. I wouldn't even consider adding the 3rd row... you'd lose all your storage space back there and they'd definitely have to be facing backwards... No Bueno.
Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to pass on the idea. I feel confident I could make it work financially, might even come out ahead. But I have some kids that are older teens/young adults and I don't want to send them a message that it's a good idea to buy a new car every couple years.
Do not see anything bad here. I like change cars every 6-8 months, if they can make enough, what’s the problem? My father had his VW caravella for 15 years and was not able to switch it. I grew up in a poor family, but life changes instantly. I am making enough right now to try every car i want, therefore i change them more often than my shoes. Unfortunately, my dad does not need a car anymore. I would love to by new cars for him... appreciate every day you have, every moment you live, tomorrow can not happen

Dont forget about all the experiences you could be missing out on by not getting the MY. My parents are getting older and I want them to experience and remember riding in a Tesla before passing on. Not the greatest example but you get it
