Thinking about this further, as soon as that window sill height is altered and the vehicle shortened, the angle of the rake/beltline had to change. Also, we have to remember this is not built like other vehicles, there are limitations to the folds and the machines that can do those folds. Also, there are certain requirements, that none of us are aware of, necessary to make the exoskeleton durable enough. So these changes could be out of necessity, not just aesthetic.

~3% more awesome. I like the sill being a bit lower, high sills are annoying and are for sports cars(something you dont daily drive work out of). How do you get 7 inches reduction from 208" with ~3%? My calculator is seriously broke. So what is the expected length?

yeah, that's my concern is bed length being to short to fit motorcycles...my 6'6" gmc bed is perfect to fit 3 dirt bikes with center bike offset and tail gate down...could probably survive with 6' but it's pushing it....using a trailer sucks for day trips not to mention a tri motor will prob destroy a light moto trailer

I was thinking the same thing. I read "~" as approximately.
So, 208-7 = 201 , and 7 / 208 = 3.365%

In my opinion, the design easily afford - 3%. Now I'm anxiously awaiting a revised render from Tesla!

Not sure where you’re getting 208”. The original announced length was 232”.

Here’s my hunch: The truck at the reveal was about 240”+. So the revised truck is 3% smaller than the version we saw at the reveal, but still checks in at 232”.

I hope I’m wrong because 225” would be way easier to fit in my garage.

Having only seen the CyberTruck in video's, I doubt I would visually notice those changes, perhaps if the original was next to it. I chose to order late, I'm around 400,000th in line, so that I could see how others rated the truck after a reasonable amount of time, and so I can test drive it before I purchase it.

I don't think that Elon, or his engineer's, makes these changes just for the hell of it, I imagine they are engineering reasons, or perhaps, "You know after driving this for a few months, I really wish this design was like this...", reason. I'm really pleased that he is keeping us informed though, cause he could say nothing, and let us all be surprised when it comes out.

I really don't know why, but I always get excited about any tidbit of information that comes out, I kind of feel like a kid at Christmas, which is kind of cool. At this rate I'll get $70K of joy before I even get it.

I think you got the 208 inch figure from me.
I was hoping for the "Goldilocks Cybertruck" ( Global 2nd version) to be, 208 inch long.

I think the - 3% means, 231.7 inch original length minus ~3% = approx. 224.7 inch new length.

In any case, Elon stated he's meeting with his engineering team next week, and "will post exact numbers soon".

I hope you’re right but I think it’s important to note than Elon was asked the differences from the prototype at the reveal. We’ve always known the prototype was longer than the announced length. Basically I’m saying I think the 3% thing has been known for months.

We just don’t know what it will look like. Maybe like the top pic below? Borrowed from someone on Twitter:

I like the idea of lowered window sills. Elon driving around (badly) in the original proto gave a silly small guy illusion.

I hope that 7" reduction is not in the rear leg room...take the now 6.5 foot bed down before reducing rear leg room...

Elon said there is plenty of room in the cab area to reduce it in length previously. I also think they could do away with the flare at the back of the vehicle, where the top of the tailgate sticks out further than the bumper area.

He said the bed wouldn't change, didn't he?
