1. Badass

2. Electric Powertrain - This allows for instant torque, throttle response, and torque vectoring with smooth but insane acceleration that feels like a sci-fi movie. Also it’s a truck that can have near zero emissions if mostly using solar. The cost advantage of electric coupled with anticipated reliability of the batteries/drivetrain/powertrain leads to a low cost of ownership for a vehicle of this type.

3. Vault - It’s ideal for camping with hvac and outlets running off battery. Also the enclosed vault is a game changer for mountain biking by preventing theft on road trips/overnight. It also provides a place to plug in electric mountain bikes. The 6.5 foot bed with a tail gate flip stop, potential pass through and rumored class leading width due to lack of wheel wells will be really practical for long (or wide) items.

4. Spacious interior - The full sized crew cab interior means loads of legroom, headroom, and shoulder room for the whole family on road trips. I’m also enamored with the body design. The slope of the a Pillar/windshield adds to the spaciousness and allows extra storage.

5. Durability - There‘s no need to worry about scratches to the paint. Trail scratches from offroading/overlanding can be worn with honor. 16 inches of stock ground clearance with a flat underbody is incredible! Also no need to worry about rust. I can own this vehicle for a LONG time with the durable stainless steel exoskeleton and million mile battery.

Regarding the Tesla armor glass, while it’s not necessarily bulletproof as a result of its lack of thickness, Tesla was saying the windshield might end up being able to stop a bullet (presumably from small arms fire) due to its slope increasing the effective thickness of the laminated layers. Here’s the link.

1. Seating for 6 (currently have a truck with 6 seats and regularly use all 6 seats)
2. 14 000 lb towing capacity (would like more, but this is my minimum...use this amount regularly)
3. Fuel savings potential
4. Large battery capacity
5. Supercharging network (also hoping for CCS adapter)

1. EV - I have for years wanted to shrink my carbon footprint, and now I can in a huge way. I also love the simplicity of the designs, minimizing moving parts, reducing failure points, and just solid engineering from Tesla.
2. Tough Exterior - The 30X SS Exoskeleton will be tough on back trails where dents and scratched paint are problems of the past. The windows, I have faith Elon will get this right before shipping. I like that a small stone at 70mph won't likely crack my windshield.
3. FSD - As I get older, long mundane road trips become tougher to stay focused and alert at all times - huge safety value.
4. All the numerical values - 500+ mile range, 3500lb bed payload, 14,000+lb towing cap, plaid mode, 6 person crew cab, 6.5' covered/protected vault/bed, among other areas.
5. My personal belief in Elon Musk and his version of an off-road capable truck.

There's a lot more than all this, but these are the main reasons. The community is amazing. The company is magical. Elon is a unique individual in how he seeks to improve the lives of all humanity. I feel this deeply within my soul, and it feels so wonderful. Best wishes to everyone. peace and love

1 - I always wanted a giant robot friend.
2 - I though poor Elon needed my financial support.
3 - I thought a bad ass truck would help me hide how weak and fragile I am inside.
4 - I like to click on stuff online and I was getting board with the things I could afford.
5 - There were so many people out there that hated the way it looked. I just had to have it.

Would I have bought it in preorder if it wasn't a Tesla? Yes I would buy it if it was a Ford or other major manufacturer but I would have waited till it was out for a year. So maybe number one reason should be it's a Tesla. But I'm going to keep my Tacoma for awhile to make sure the CT is reliable. In 16 years my Tacoma has died one time, but started right back up. Has once been pulled off the beach because 4x4 failed to engage ( my fault for not testing, but it always just worked before) .
not ordering early may put you in line for a long wait....even with some people not taking delivery, there still is a long wait......but, you could very easily see changes by the time you get to purchase......I think the 500 mile range is a real winner for camping.....

My five things are:

1....Great range (~500 miles +)
2....Stainless steel body, no painting
3....Camping mode
4....Great ground clearance
5....Tesla technology
6....and my wife doesn't like it.......hahaha

I'm ~47,000 in line. So I think you misunderstood what I'm trying to say... I'm trying to say being a Tesla should perhaps be number 1 reason I made an order. After all I did not make a rivian reservation as I am not wealthy enough to risk 60k on an untested manufacturer. I would buy a ford.... but not until I see that the electric f150 is worth it....

I'm at what, 56k?

Same. I'm not allowed (spouse's rules!) to drool over a car that cost 1/3rd our house did. Well, there may be an exception for the Cybertruck.

1 - I need a truck to tow and haul
2 - I want an electric vehicle
3 - I need to be able to charge it on the go.
4 - the pre-order fee was virtually nothing.
5 - chose tesla over rivian because theres a service center within 50km of my house and it's cheaper.
