Ok ok
Earlier today I told my wife I needed 60 grand.
After she stopped laughing, she asked for what.
Cybertruck was my answer.
Again laughing,
she said , umm no.
How am I going to be a trendsetting, forward thinking, environment preservation, cool guy in a Cybertruck.
Shut up and watch Jeopardy was the reply.
Cant win.

Just put in a reservation. She will come around in 2+ years.
Or, pretend it is a mid-life crises in 2+ years and omit you reserved now.
Or, buy both the truck and model 3, make the model 3 work autonomously to pay for itself and the truck.

I like the mid-life crisis argument. It's either the CT or a younger model of you :)

Seriously tho, how about sitting down with her, explaining the savings in gasoline and the impact for the environment, and any trade in value on your current daily driver. I am a wife, and it was us, deciding together to get the CT..... And BTW, I found the forum and I registered. The dual will manageable, especially considering current and hopefully future low interest rates.

Your post is funny and other forum members are jokingly suggesting lying /midlife crisis etc but this could be an adventure mobile for both of you.

OH, and wow Ken Jennings winning Jeopardy!

That’s the scary part, if I did get the CT, she WOULD go find a younger version of me.
One that’s younger, buffer, and could afford to buy the damn thing! Ha
See... frustration.

Ken killed it didn’t he!
All your points are valid. Problem is she would in no way, drive the CT. Her civic is, her words,”perfect “.
She is all about the environment but the size of the truck alone intimidates her.
Change scares people and that’s the big factor. I’m going to keep working on it with her and we will see.
But if I don’t post in a week or so, come looking for me because she is small but mighty.

I apologize if my post came off as offensive.
Everyone’s personal financial and relationship situation is unique.
Sometimes, it is OK to be selfish in a relationship and thus, support our partner on their needs at the expense of ours.

Compromise. Tell her if you did get a CT she would never have to drive it and if it makes her uncomfortable she can ride in the back with the tonneau cover closed so no one sees her in it either.

Sounds like you have 2 years to get buff.

It was Sunday night after the release of Cybertruck and my wife and I were talking about it since it popped up on the news because of the broken glass. My wife said why haven't you ordered one yet? So she was onboard before me. I had my TCT ordered within 10 mins after she said that.

I on the other hand mentioned the truck to the wife and she said, "I'll buy it for you." And since she makes all the money I just sat in the corner and licked my eyebrows.
