All the transistors would be on the same cold plate. I'm arguing that 6 transistors dissipate more heat than 10. But I am also arguing that the 6 should be switched at rated of 10's of kHz as opposed to the 100 or 120 Hz rate at which they are switched now (the 4 in the second bridge have to be switched at 10's of kHz if it is used. It is switching that dissipates (wastes) heat and thus, unless the newer transistors switch lots faster than the old (and I believe they do) there might not be an efficiency improvement from what I propose.
