Everybody is missing the obvious solution! Throw away the steering wheel and just use FSD! :unsure: :unsure: :unsure:
Or with drive-by-wire, the steering wheel can be anywhere so just have 3 plugs in the dash so the steering wheel can be moved for use in any of the 3 front seat positions.

Honestly, I wish the US would switch to it. I was just throwing it in for fun.
We pretty much have. We just don't tell the public. The definition of an inch, for example, is 25.400000 mm.

BTW Tesla uses metric hardware.

Don't recall; I was just a kid. Come to think of it, the horse-drawn carriage did have a steering wheel at the front. (Not connected -- it just spun.) And it was in the center of the dash!

There has been several families running donkey rides on the beach for generations, and yes there were fire engines, rockets etc as hors drawn carriages, all with a central steer wheel.
