So a solid wall with a portal on each side to traverse the solid wall? Turn off the portal when not traversing. I wonder what the physics of that would be.
I know how to do it. I just can't tell you because it's a secret.

seems to be the most feasible option

depending on how much space is needed for the rolled up tonneau cover, might be able to store it in the roof above the midgate and delete the vertical tracks all together. best part is no part

my kid is constantly playing Minecraft and he thinks portals are a thing. My friend not worry about the portal setup is that the ender dragon or some endermen might pop out of the portal if you leave it open.

Suggestions anyone...?

Cybertruck, test ride driver answers a question: where does the cover go..? Its directly behind you. The passenger was sitting in the back seat.

The best part is no part.
Make the seat back the also the pass through door.
Make the back window hinge inwards to be stored at the glass roof.
Have the rubber seals slightly pressurised with on the board compressor creating an expandable positive seal. This could make the bottom seal when the back seat/pass through door is down, waterproof.
The hinge would need some clever engineering for it to seal when either up or down but I can’t imagine it would be anywhere near as complicated as falcon wing doors.
