Tesla Gigafactory Texas site surprises with cryptic Boring Company equipment

Relying on statistic can be a way to navigate life..... but I think CT preorder holders are found far more left and right of the median. ???

Tesla Gigafactory Texas site surprises with cryptic Boring Company equipment

@CyberDingo You must have a lot of time on your hands.........? I would rather use the Starship ferry version to get my CT across oceans.?

Alex on Autos: The truth about EVs and Solar

@Crissa I am sorry to have been misunderstood. My system is based on micro-inverters with integrated MPPT for each module. I do not use a battery (total cost inefficient and we have practically no power outages where I live :)). The BEV will only be charged (>2kW-11kW) during peak PV...

Alex on Autos: The truth about EVs and Solar

@Crissa You made some very valid points and I value your post very much. (y) But at this point I have to object: If it would be so inefficient, how would you ever run your AC home grid from it ??? My converter sits right at the panel and has a rated efficiency that is much higher...

Elon Reconfirms Production Cybertruck Will be Around 3% Smaller. Factory Delivery / Pick Up Will Be Available!

@cary1219 Your wish has been granted allready..... since there will be power outlets 220V / 110V. (For EU I would like to see a 3Phase 16A socket for big power tools.) They just have to work both ways and you should use direct modul converters (Envertec or Hoymiles (HMT 2250 is even a 3...

    CT's Airbag Suspension?

The CT should be "state of the art". It should incorporate all the existing features. IMHO this is a full air suspencion (like a commercial bus/truck/trailer)with remotely adjusted shock absorbers. Steel springs are too heavy, bulky and only customisable for 2 load settings. I would like to...

Tesla Model S and Model X’s steering yoke approved for use in the Netherlands

All Tesla Models currently on the roads in Germany are approved by Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer. It is enought to be road legal in one EU country to be sold/driven in all EU countrys. That is one of the many advantages the EU stands for, making life easyer. So bring on the yoke........and...

Cybertruck design & engineering complete. First deliveries still this year.

@intimidator you are right Tesla needs to build more capacity fast..... But why do you assume it has to be at a new site? Take GiGa Berlin (actually Brandenburg / in a different substate): They have started a year ago with a goal of 250K or so..... But if you look at the rate they have...

Cybertruck design & engineering complete. First deliveries still this year.

@Dids is right I did not think of casting stainless steel. I assumed alluminium because it is used in X and Y and less dense. @rodmacpherson THX for the link . You made me/us more knowlageble. This could be a way to avoid galvanic corrosion. I think TESLA will still go for alluminum casting...

No FSD license transfer from current owners :-(

Maybe the people in China are smarter...... only 2% buy FSD. They wait until it is actually driving the car, on it's own, and road legal. I am still holding FSD on the ordered CTs, but if it is not FULL self driving by time of delivery (2023?) the orders will be "downsized". If there is no...

Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so says Musk!

I do hope we get to see the now finally designed CT. The news on CT in the Q4 earnings call left me feeling a bit disapointed.? Especially given the importance of the PickUp as a huge volume booster to Tesla sales.... But hey it could have been worse...... if I had a roaster on order and hear...

Cybertruck design & engineering complete. First deliveries still this year.

Sounds like a alluminum subframe inside/under the exoskeletton........ This will be much faster to produce and chanels the forces (while towing) better to the structural battery pack. I'm fine with that as long as they solve galvanic corrosion.

It is effing final. Elon said so himself! "Cybertruck doesn’t need a garage"

 silly me to put oo instead of o but to let me in on the joke you have to explain a non native english speaker what a pootgun is. I only found a bootgun and that seems to be very inhumane. ?

5 Reasons I Love the Rivian...But Still Buying the Cybertruck (Video)

kind of offtopic, but not worth to open a new tread imho: @MEDICALJMP The presentation of the CT indeed was "life....changing" there are rumors of people having purchased their first TESLA stocks after (because of) the presentation..... but ordered a CT or two much later. Now they have...

It is effing final. Elon said so himself! "Cybertruck doesn’t need a garage"

Any one open for a compromise? If I want to pamper my CT it can easyly fit in my carport (3,5m wide by 3.8m high and 10m long). There will be even a charge point up to 22KW (because we have 3Phase residential power). It is located not in Texas (where everything is big?) but in Europe, in the...

    Cybertruck update date

HMMM obviously I have been too optimistic. I will raise another week and hope for the 27th of January 2021. It would be very dissapointing if "maybe in 4 weeks" ELON Time turns out to be even longer....

Not only Honda pulled out....... BMW will produce the MINI Countryman in another country soone.... on the other hand: Yesterday I ordered a gift for my wife in the UK and now we patiently wait..... hoping for a speedy delivery.
