I’d be willing to bet “land restoration” is a red-tape loophole that allows big projects to get a quick start. They were probably told that the new construction permitting process will take X months, but land restoration permits only take X days. And you can do all the same development while...
I don't actually need a truck. I will definitely use the CT's pickup capabilities occasionally instead of borrowing a friend's truck. What I need is a big SUV that can seat 6. And the CT can check those boxes too.
GigaAustin, TeraTexas... I don't think these titles really do justice to what is being built. It's massive. It's open to the public. It's gonna have green spaces and a river walk. Almost seems to have a theme park thing going on.
And no offense Elon, but Tesla Land sounds better than Muskland.
Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to pass on the idea. I feel confident I could make it work financially, might even come out ahead. But I have some kids that are older teens/young adults and I don't want to send them a message that it's a good idea to buy a new car every couple years.
I don't think about FSD much but I have been thinking about it a bit lately since the investor call. Moreover I've been thinking about my own confidence in FSD. How much time would it take for me to trust it enough to drive to work and then send the CT home so my wife could use it for errands...
Spoke too soon
(Although this protest barely registers on the Richter scale.)

At least the front doors (maybe the back doors too) will have a mechanical fail safe. I highly doubt you'll be in a situation where you have an electrical failure AND both doors blocked.
I will say I have some concerns about sleeping in the vault with the cover closed, if there isn't a pass...
I work in the heart of Portland Oregon, which seems to be the epicenter of the protests at the moment. While it’s true that the majority of the protestors are not fans of capitalism, so far the targets of their protests and vandalism has mostly been government buildings. Nike’s world HQ is...
Seeing where they are in July 2020 I can only think one thing. Barring some unforeseen event I do think the factory (the building itself) will be fully operational by the end of 2021. Maybe even summer 2021.
So I would have to think the only obstacle preventing production starting on time...
I doubt they will outright cancel the RWD. It's worth noting that Tesla official numbers show 250+ on the single motor. They wouldn't be lying if that plus sign drifted upwards to 300.
Smart people around here have done some calculations and figured the DM would be around 350 and the TM about...
I’ve been wondering how hard it would be to polish a badge onto it. If the tailgate is all dull, could you polish the letters TESLA onto it? They would be super shiny and probably only visible from certain angles.
Personally I wouldn’t want that if it were free. Too many moving parts. It also looks like the hydraulics would take up space in the bed.
If there is a fold out array I would bet money it’s stored in the sail compartments. Feels like the natural spot to stow an array. I imagine it folding...
I don’t think it’s practical to have to get them repaired. From what I hear the door handles are the #1 point of failure on the Model S. I want a truck designed to be... well, “bulletproof”.
But maybe they have improved the design and it’s no longer an issue.?♂️
I’d have to take a hard look at an electric Bronco with decent range. But as cool as this Bronco is, an overtaxed tiny turbo is a big turn off for me. I had a 2013 Ford Flex with an EcoBoost V6. It performed great, but I was really worried about the turbos going out outside of warranty. I...
