As much as I loved Avalanche‘s midgate design, CT would be much better for camping if they can make it work. Less like coffin due to height of the bed cover at one end, the glass roof and you don’t have to run the loud motor for climate control.

The issue is probably more structural than complex. The vault cover already passes through the mid-gate, and has no need of a wall there. Windows can roll down or fold up, and seats can fold down. These aren't even really uncommon features, either.
But what if I dump a load of gravel into the bed? Do I still need a wall if I then want to close the cover?

It was under the bed immediately behind the battery pack, if I remember correctly. It was smaller than the pic below, and not as round shaped, but the basic idea.
Like @Crissa reminds us, there have been many incarnations of doors and tailgates that opened any which way and had retractable windows. The vault cover is on some kind of track more or less (except perhaps for the track) independent of the back way and window, and as noted it rolls down under the rear seats somewhere. So if there is a way to roll the vault cover off the track (if the track is even part of the gate), then there could be a folding gate.
I think that's mostly it. Kinda like making a convertible. If the back wall isn't fixed, they'll have to reinforce elsewhere.

I was just thinking about why they don’t let the batterypack extend further under the bed instead of stacking under only cab, but that is probably the answer. As well the aforementioned tonneau cover roll, air compressor, chargers and transformers etc that needs to be put somewhere.
Yes, and also the issue of decreasing the payload maximum on the rear wheels.
Folded seats + 6.5' bed would make for a massive enclosed cargo area. Good for so many things, not the least of which is camping. I really like going for a weekend and camping in my car. The CT would be amazing for this with folded rear seats.
