then there are probably 900k reservations. It only costs $100 to pre order, so there's going to be a lot of garbage in there.
IMO 1/3 - 1/2 of pre orders will actually result is a purchased vehicle
75% of Model 3 and far more of Model Y pre-reservations followed through.

8,087 here. We'll see if it really effects anything though.
Holy guacamole Batman, you must've ordered yours halfway through the reveal.

Yeah, but people had to pay 10X the amount for the Model 3, and 25X for the Model Y. Money talks, and we'll see a direct relationship. It's like playing poker; I find it hilarious the change in people's bluffing ability when you go from monopoly money to even a $5 or $20 buy in.

Good news: I drive all over CA for work, so if you live there just keep your eye out and you can get exceptionally jealous. I'm also going to post here about how useful it is as a work truck for me.

Probably true, I'd guess that the CT reservations will be about 50/50 on full commitment. Even then that's just good new for people who want it sooner. Oddly enough I'd guess that the completion rate of pre-order to purchase will be an inverse exponential relationship. People reserving them later on are way more likely to have thought it through and lined stuff up, but people in the early batches will probably be pretty volatile on how quickly they can move.

PS, afaik, Model Y was $100.
Oh, I thought it was higher, nix that then. I also forgot to consider superfans that will literally buy anything and how they were likely the front end of the reservation table.

Model 3 was $1,000 deposit, Model Y was $2,500 deposit. Now they are both $100. I had reservations for both early on. ?

CT reservations was different, the $100 is refundable so it there was a no risk involved. After the reveal there were people during multiple reservations

It was $2500. Thus, almost everyone went through with it.
Given this, I return to my previous estimate and hope to be doing freeway speed launches down on-ramps in my dual motor king dorito this time next year.

I‘m in line at number 3,241 with the Tri-motor truck ordered and the reservation list puts me at 0.33 month to get my truck when released. Now I should be excited but there is one fact that is curbing my enthusiasm, I live in Alaska and fear my region wont be at the top of the list!!! No telling when they will get around to the frozen north!! Hahaha....
