What features won’t be standard on the tri-motor and what do you think full spec will cost?

But you could say that about everything. I doubt that they will have a performance edition of the tri motor CT though it is certainly possible.

Some have noted that towing may be standard and I would like to think so.

@elonmudk has mentioned the solar, camper, and quad as options but not as standard items. I’d like to see a winch as at least an option. There are several things @elonmusk has, or others have, mentioned that I would like to see be standard: tailgate stop, some kind of fold-down or openable cab rear wall, folding seats, console, light configurability, tie down slots in bed, camper/rack mounts, ...

It’s really a wishlist for a feature and spec sheet.

A lot less than I thought.
$4500 to go to 21” wheels from 19”
$1500 for two upgrades interior options beyond black
$10,000 for full self driving

OPTION: Something that gets installed at the factory, usually during General Assembly, probably because it has parts or parts that are instead-of the standard bits, rather than in-addition-to.

ACCESSORY: Something that can be added relatively easily without substitution, pretty much anywhere between the panel-stamping machine and your driveway

I know Tesla doesn't use that nomenclature precisely but I find it useful. While the machine that builds the machine has limited flexibility, then options are expensive-to-offer profit killers and accessories are excellent cash cows, if their margins are good.

For the next few years I think we'll see more and more accessories and a very limited set of options (if you take my proposed nomenclature to heart). As the machine that builds the machine gets smarter, I bet we see more options.

Seems to me that FSD and the Cyberquad are effectively accessories. For the former, you flip a bit in the firmware config and for the latter, you uncrate another can of whup-ass at the delivery center and load it onto the truck bed. Execution is cheap. There will be several others and the aftermarket will pitch in, too. As for real "options" as I've chosen to define them, I'd expect some wheel/tire choices, interior color choices (um, black or white, with white coming later), and maybe a premium sound option on the cheaper configurations.

That will have to tide us over until the machine that builds the machine gets smart enough to swap in the rocket-equipped rear fenders during body panel installation, when the customer orders that.

I haven't been able to tell while watching the videos what the seat upholstery is. I'm hoping that we won't all be stuck with vegan leather. Being a truck, I'd prefer the water resistant polyester cloth. Lots of trucks have used it. I had a 2009 GMC that had it, and it was the best thing ever for a truck.

Don't auto companies usually categorize as: STANDARD, OPTIONAL, and ACCESSORY? The discussion here started at what will not be in the tri-motor STANDARD group. Beyond what @elonmusk presented at the unveiling, or has specifically referred or responded to in tweets and interviews, is anyone's guess. We all eagerly await news from Tesla about features and specifications of the entire CT lineup.

I for one look forward to clarity about the mirrors, wipers, and license plates, the last of which showed a digital plate at the LA museum but which, when offered by 3rd parties, is a one time and subscription cost. That Tesla appeared to have mounted twin cameras behind the glass for the digital plate would suggest that it is an integrated package but nothing has really been said about it. That is just one feature that needs clarification. Maybe metal as standard and digital as an option rather than an accessory?

I do not believe you can get any Tesla anymore with anything other than the Vether I do not see them changing that.

They used to offer textile seats in early model S and X but that has since vanished. I am betting due to cost/sourcing

I agree 100%. Artificial leather/leather are not durable enough for real truck activity, too susceptible to punctures and scratches.

Artificial leather is only as susceptible to punctures as cloth. Tesla is unlikely to use the very cheap stuff you find in other automakers, at least not so far.

Remove the cushions and hose down the inside to clean. Your seat cushion becomes a flotation device in case your CT stops floating at some point. Pull the cushions into the bed for a mattress to sleep on.

I was very surprised after getting my model 3 (a few days ago!) to see that the rear seat heaters were an option I could purchase (I thought it came with all the heated seats, but only the front are activated.)
I understand that this is just a software switch and the idea of having the upgrades available with a click or a phone call is pretty cool.
It also simplifies production as they make one set and turn on or off various components. I will expect similar things with the CT.
There are the three configurations.
Upgrades include: FSD, Cyberquad, solar cover and possible wheel package options, interior color and perhaps a camping package?
I believe to this point, they will all come with the 220v and 110v outlets in the vault, the tracks or tie downs, air compressor and am air suspension, but it may be that these are all standard only with the tri-motor or a premium package.
There is probably a thread here about “ what we think we know” but even if something was stated very clearly, things can change.
The sound system would be mother area for upgrades.
Floor mats/carpet? Refrigerated frunk?

Just go to Tesla.com, pick a vehicle and go through the process of ordering. Tesla did an amazing job of simplifying the options and confusion of different trims, packages etc... Why do I want to buy a package for $1000 when all I want is the one option inside of that package???

Just give me my DM with FSD and I will be in heaven.....

My 16 S has textile leather. It's basically corduroy in the areas you contact the seat. Great for material endurance, not great for comfort.
