lol.
I guess I got armor piercing from my bulk ammo purchase years ago. It looks like copper, lead than steel core. Maybe I'll shoot it again with a regular copper/lead round. but it would still go through most likely
It is silver tipped painted

That surplus 7.62x54R ammo had a mild steel core and they were not armor piercing. Anything that specific round can go through, a pure copper and lead bullet can go through. Also, 308 Winchester and 30-06 are very similar to it ballistically.

By the way, I've shot a 3/8 or 1/2 stainless steel plate (not sure of the exact type) with both 7.62x54R and 308 Winchester from around 30 yards and they go right through.

How about if we try to do a scientific test on two supermarket frozen burritos on the equivalent of the hood of the Cybertruck, and see how long it'll take to get from frozen to table ready? Yet another advantage for the CT: solar oven.
(I lived in Las Vegas about 25 years ago, and my brother used to cook his burritos this way 15 min. each side to get 'em piping hot!)

I'll get a rust test going.
You have been doing great tests, if you have not thought of it, how about four tests? Maybe do a distilled water, tap water, salt water (roughly ocean salinity), and super salinity (Dead Sea Salinity)?

Just a suggestion, no worries.

It would be interesting to see what you do test.

I'd say no need for distilled water or tap water, but use orange juice or carbonated soft drink to simulate more extreme acid rain.

If you've ever seen a car that had been egged... maybe trying some egg on it. I'm a little concerned that bird poo may discolor it without any wax to protect it.

little tempering color test... anything other than the straw color dosnt seem doable as it just requires was too much heat into the metal, melting anything near or on the other side as well as potentially warping it.

My question would be, since stainless steel is so nonconductive, why does it even matter the temperature on the surface - it won't penetrate and pass through the 3mm depth to the interior. Though, it is fun watching the test results. I don't ever want to wrap this, as it would just be asking to be messed up on the trail. I will not baby my Cybertruck. The whole idea is that I can drive the pee out of this truck through the worst trails available, and it will just laugh. That will make me belly laugh, as all the paint I've scratched, and body panels creased and holed... that won't happen ever again. I'm loving it so much right now, and it's only a promise and my imagination! haha peace
