Self protection/preservation mode. Many gawkers will be coming up and pawing my CT. package could include electrifying the surface (to give just a wee tingle if ya touch it) and also play a warning you can record yourself. Mine would play a short loop of MC Hammers “can’t touch this’ ?

It would be better to wish for robotic chargers that auto connect over wireless charging. Wireless charging is lossy and at the high transfer rate required to quickly charge a battery the receiver side of the resonant coil would be a heavy thing to carry around all the time.
Actually electric charging only has 1.5% loss where most cables and people set up is at home have about 2.2% loss so it's actually less loss than normal cabling because as thicker cabling and has a frequency rather than an amperage setup

Wireless charging is the future. Imagine taxi cues that everyone has a charger just like social distancing stamps in grocery stores

That’s some cool technology. I remember when Nissan/Infiniti was working on this several years ago. I guess nothing ever came of that.

Battery day 2020 mark my words!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS this interview happened just 4 months ago so this is on the cusp of being in every new BEV in the world just like it is in every singe flagship phone. (but it is 93% efficient in cars where it is only 55% efficient in mobil phones)

So rapid charging loss would be about 1500 watts that are not contained in a cable. That means 1500 watts of heating of the car or cat or whatever else is near the field. Also how heavy is the receiver for the field? My guess the amount of copper and the weight is more than the value of wireless charging. As a side note.. I have personally been to witricity. They used to be working on a picture frame transmitter that you could use to power a laptop/ phone somewhere in the room. They were trying to sell a modified version for powering an Army helmet wirelessly and I worked with them on the demonstration. It worked, would power a headlamp on helmet but it kept overheating and that was at 12v.

Did I miss it or did they not talk about transfer rate. They talk about efficiency but at what rate?

Be a good time to own a wrap company or learn how to do that.
The most difficult part of most wraps, is dealing with the curves. Being that the CT is all flat with sharp edges, I don't think it'd be that difficult to do on my own.
I did my own Prius 3rd gen head & tail lights with a light tint, which had both convex and concave surfaces. Having never done it before, they turned out pretty good. I got better with each one.

RE: Wrapping a car - Wrapping a car isn’t overly difficult. Wrapping a car well is very difficult. To do it correctly, you often need to remove body panels and bumpers. There’s a reason a good wrap job runs $3k+. Given the size, I wouldn’t be shocked at all to get quotes of $4k+ to wrap a cybertruck.

RE: Prediction:
1. Glass tint as others have said (unless the OEM solution on the roof glass is good)
2. Bed organization system - Someone is going to come out with a modular, weatherproof organization And tie down system for the CT. That person is going to make a lot of money.
3. Wheels & Tires - Having been a jeep owner for a while and seeing what that community does, I’m confident that upgraded wheels & tires will be one of the first things customers do.
