My first post and wanted to say hi and let you know I upgraded my order from a dual motor to a tri-motor!
I'm thinking about doing the same thing. What ultimately drove you (no pun intended) to upgrade to the tri-motor?

The battery for range and hopefully use it as a power source at times. I do a lot of camping and tailgating with my family.

Speed is a nice upgrade but I won't really take advantage of it.

Plus I don't want have any regrets.

I upgraded mine yesterday to dual motor. I have a class C RV now, when I get the CT, I'll sell my motorhome and buy a travel trailer. What kind of travel trailers people here plan to tow with their CT?

I am hoping there will be a long range dual motor version. I would love a 500+ mile range, but i could care less about the sub 3s 0-60 time. I want to use my truck for work, not as a sports car.

Can’t see the advantage except speed and some more range.
I upgraded from single to dual motor for the all wheel drive but personally can’t see the price for the tri

A sports car? Maybe more in line for a drag car/truck/funny car? Nope, I'm hoping it will be my personal unpaid chauffeur in my soon to be really old age!

I agree, I upgraded to a dual, figured it's like having twin engines on an boat, you can always get home (if you don't sink it)! But it would be nice to have the extended range of the tri.

I look around the neighborhood and see top of the line F-250’s and for the money I’ll take the tri-motor any day. Even a brand new one with a few cameras on it doesn’t really interest me. It’s just so commonplace. I am looking forward to bringing something interesting into the cul-de-sac.

I just upgraded to the tri motor as well. I really have no idea why. I might go back to dual motor down the road with more info.

Funny, I did the same thing today. I did it because I wanted the extra range for back country exploring. I also added the full self driving. In the specs with the tri motor it said that auto pilot was standard. I assume that the full self driving is not auto pilot. It that correct?
