Finally! News about cybertruck! Elon just confirmed the reworked duel and single motor CT has a mid gate. The tri motor will not get mid gate because the bigger battery pack prevents it.

This is fake news.
I want real news god damnit :)

I do not see Galt’s society as selfish per se. Did you really mean that?
Yes, absolutely.

The point is explained in excruciating detail when Hank Rearden gives Dagny Taggert the fur coat.

The further hammered home when she arrives in Galt's Gulch, and Rand explains how families could theoretically work because of shellfish motivations. My real-life experience as a parent does not match Rand's theory, though.

This is the main theme, and the entire point of the book. It's repeated repeatedly.

Celebrating selfishness is the core idea of Objectivism, which is why she keeps coming back to it.

They are about honoring excellence and not bowing to the lowest common denominator.
It's more of a social Darwinist message. Rand feels that some people are just inherently better than others.

Look at the part where Rand describes Eddie Willers, one of the assistants. She explains what she means in detail there. Rand is not subtle.

I disagree with the way Rand frames this; she pretends that meritocracy == morality. I see work-merit and morality as separate dimensions, and then things get complicated.

And what she had to say about government would ring true for Libertarians I suppose. All this said I liked the presentation of the question here.
I was a libertarian as a young adult.

Alas, I found the Libertarian philosophy to be pretty weak in it's ability to analyze and describe actual human behavior.

Like Objectivism, Libertarianism is appealing in its simplicity and its prescriptiveness. But, neither one of these ideas is particularly helpful in interacting with the real world -- you just spend all your time wondering why the real world doesn't conform to the philosophy.

I found some wisdom by asking myself why smart, capable, and self-interested people rarely act like Ayn Rand's selfish heroes.

The short answer is that teamwork and group behavior are hard-wired into human nature because teamwork is our survival superpower.

Then I got news for you; the richest man in the world may have started questioning his priorities, whether he wants to spend his remaining days worrying about potential customers. Especially now that he knows there is more demand than he can handle and we will be waiting indefinitely to give him our money regardless of what comes out of that assembly line. Our relationship with Elan is like that of a crossed eyed toothless teenager drooling over a supermodel. You get a glance when and if she feels like looking this way.
There is always a price to pay when you are in love ;)

Which was named after the famous Chief Shaw.
I went to school with a Penelope Shaw. I remember she told me about her ancestor Chief Shaw. Apparently the family still has his old trunk full of fur mittens. The kids used to play with them when they would visit the old homestead.
