There is no "place in line" with Tesla your location has more bearing on when you will get your truck

if this is true then. So if someone just make a cybertruck now may get the truck first ? You are not making sense, your statement is may to generalisation.... base on what ..... can you please explain more. Tesla must have a line, otherwise it will be unfair.... hmm

Azjohn overstated and oversimplified this, but he has a point.

In the past, the order in which customers receive their Teslas has been determined by (in order of importance):
  1. Geography (customers closer to well-established service centers get cars first)
  2. Trim Level (more expensive vehicles are built first)
  3. Ability to pay (obviously, but people can be optimistic about their future finances)
  4. The order in which your reservation was made (easy to talk about, but ultimately not that important)
Pushing this into a yes/no question about "is there a line, or ain't there" is worse than useless in terms of being able to guesstimate when your vehicle will be delivered.

The idea that there is a single long line for the cars doesn't reflect the way new Tesla models have been rolled out in the past.

There's no guarantee that Tesla will follow the pattern with the Cybertruck, but the scheme above is very sensible in terms of the constraints Tesla faces.

Thank you, nicely put explain. Base on my RN number, I will have a higher chance of getting my cybertruck in the first 6 to 12 month of cybertruck production which will hopefully start in 2021.

Where you live, and which variant of the truck you choose, could be much more important for determining when you get your truck than your RN. During the Model 3 rollout, people who lived close to the factory got their car first.

Being out here in not-Chicago with a single-motor reservation would likely put me at the back of the line, even if I had a low RN.

Having a relatively high RN won't matter if I order the tri-motor and have the ability to pay, *if* all of my neighbors order single motors.

If you want to get yours first, order the most expensive truck. Tesla will build the expensive vehicles first in order to make the most profitable sales first.

The RN is just a tie breaker.

I am more than a bit surprised that someone with such a low reservation number seems to know so little about all of this. Sorry but I don’t buy it. If you were out at 750,000 or more then sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if your truck is out in the first month or so, especially when all of the considerations others have pointed out are factored in. If you want to know more about reservation numbers there is a tab above called reservations that will provide a link. You enter your order information and it will give as good an estimate as anything else as to when you might see your truck.

Just because someone pressed the button at the presentation doesn't mean they know how the reservation system works. IT just means they were dazzled early on ^-^ There's probably barely an hour or so difference between 19k and 100k.

Question: If I order a second CT now (I ordered the first one Nov. 2019) will I keep my place in line?
