How do you deal with mobs and socialist politicians down under? Tell me how lockdowns work in multigenerational households throughout the world. Do they kill more elderly than survive? The elderly are freed from risk of infection only when herd immunity of workers, students and recreators reaches 60-70 %.

So if I understand you correctly, you don't believe Lockdowns are a scientifically defined response to virus outbreaks. In a scientific playbook of how to handle a disease.

You don't believe that the Lockdown response specific to Covid-19 was scientifically driven.

You don't believe that Lockdowns took place in over 50 of the biggest developed countries in the world to combat covid -19.

If we can't agree on those points as facts my friend, I don't think we will making any progress on any other other more nuanced issues.

From my observations "certain" brands of people operate via their "feelings" and not by science. He's just a Skirmisher and nothing else. Lost cause dealing with them.

Another thing that you don’t seem to understand is that the US is a republic of 50 states. President Trump is not an emperor. If governors don’t ask for Federal help he can only intervene if the entire nation is under Imminent attack. It isn’t. Our 8 or so Blue state governors and mayors who are responsible for this malfeasance and lunacy can all be voted out of office or recalled peaceably some time soon. Trust me. It’s going to happen. We’re never going to be a socialist nation.

Lockdowns and Herd immunity are very much related, they are answers to same question.
What to do if an outbreak of a Virus occurs. Both have scientific merit.

Sweden was the only major country that consciously, and in a rational way tried to confront the virus with the Herd Immunity solution. (Unlike Brazil who’s effectively doing the same, but their govt is in denial and chaos about the Virus).

However, by all accounts including Sweden’s chief epidemiologist, (who acknowledges the situation is not as they’d hoped) all say Sweden will not reach herd immunity !

And their death rate is one of the highest per capita.

Its 70 times greater than Australia’s !

Sweden has to get 60% of the population, to get to Herd immunity, they are no where near that, and the body count continues.

There is also uncertainty even if they do reach that threshold, exactly how effective it will be, given a number of uncertainties about the virus, antibodies, reinfection, etc.
Things that need time to bear out.

The Covid- 19 Story is still unfolding, but every major country except Sweden went with Lockdown’s.

All eyes are on the U.S and Brazil for a number of reasons.

The pandemic isn’t over yet. Letting young people not seniors attend baseball, football, basketball, soccer, rugby games and return to school and work would help immensely to achieve herd immunity. After herd immunity is reached at 60-70% the young and old can interact again. I’m still waiting to celebrate my own brother’s 90 y.o. birthday with the whole family.

Yes, they do. And, as I mentioned in an earlier post, the saliva has proteins in it that could be considered venom. The Komodo dragon hunts by hiding in the bushes until an unsuspecting Timor deer happens along. He then rushes out, bites the deer and retreats and just lounges around for a few days during which time the wound gets infected and the poor deer dies what is obviously a horrible death. The dragon then emerges and using a unique (AFAIK) techique of swinging his head to detect the scent gradient of rotting flesh tracks the thing down and eats it (along with several mates because the other dragons have nostrils too).

Well you'd better check up on my story then! My understanding was based on Walter Auffenburg's reearch (his book was in my kit both times I visited Komodo Island). Since then the venomous nature of the saliva has been discovered and Auffenburgs explanation has come into question. I think one of those disputes among experts things arose from this. I don't know which to believe. I rather think both. I got a tetanus shot when I got bitten by V. Gouldii. I certainly would get one if bitten by V. Komodoensis.

The title of this thread is durability in a lawless society. We acknowledge that the CT would likely help us cope with the lawlessness. I want to offer some historical perspective for what is going on in our big city streets right now. It reminds me of when I was a college student in the early 1970’s and we had a revolutionary group called the Weather Underground politicking throughout the country. They had a manifesto called the Prairie Fire. It was discussed on Laura Ingraham’s show tonight as a kind of history lesson. I thought some of you would like to hear from one of them first hand but 45 years later after he grew up.
