Just got this email from Mattel. Looks like the 1:10 R/C Cybertruck has been delayed from original December ship date to May 2021.

Check out the Cybertruck storage case though. Cool touch!

And why did they make confirming such a convoluted process?

Sounds like they don't intend on completing the project. Very uncool to mail this out when they had to have known months ago that they were delayed.

A big reason I bought this was so i could tell my wife that I bought her a CT for Christmas! Well that won't happen anymore, bummer. I also didn't get the regret and re-reserve email, but my order still shows processing.

I guess this CT will be shipping by the time our real CT arrives, bummer! It better come with adjustable air suspension as a result of the delays ?

AFAIK you can't. They've been "sold out" since, I dunno, ten minutes after they announced this offering in February.

I wouldn't advise it, anyway. There hasn't been a peep from Mattel all year, right up until the moment they were supposed to ship. So about 10 months after they asked for pre-orders they've extended their runway by another 6 months? As Crissa suggests, these things may well be total vaporware. At the very least, that is really crappy customer care. When Tesla can't meet Elon's timelines, at least we tend to know well in advance.

Maybe what Mattel is waiting on is the revamped Cybertruck design from Tesla.

I got the email as well for the 1:64 version. To me, it's no biggie... a 4-5 month delay is par for the course in this train wreck of a year.

I don't doubt that they will in fact be made.

Yeah, no $100 reservation like on the real deal haha! You just pay upfront.
