Ya! They are sooooooo far ahead on soooooo many levels!
There basicly is just Tesla, and everyone
Else in a very distant 2nd.
It really is totally unprecedented in automotive history except for the model T.
It truely represents a major paradigm shift.

Agree with you Jerry so far ahead.
Tons of money being dumped into Rivian by Ford and Amazon and they still are trying to catch up.
Bollinger ( sp) is around but it’s ok at best. Design wise it looks like an old Land Rover.
The only other electric company im keeping tabs on is Canoe. They are making a micro van that is a brick with rounded corners but somehow still cool. Don’t know, I just dig it.
But by the time they catch up to where Tesla is now, Tesla will be years ahead again. So never......

In thinking about this (upon which I waste way too much time) it occurs to me that beyond Tesla's advantage in experience they have also attained a tremendous advantage by quietly vacuuming up battery technology in the form of companies that do battery research (Maxwell), companies that make the machines that make the batteries, luminaries in the field (the prof. from Dalhousie) and so on. We've just seen that Mercedes is curtailing production of their BEV because of a battery shortage.

Certainly Tesla's ability to eke a few more percent efficiency out of their motors and inverters gives them a competitive advantage but I'm thinking that what really has them out front now and will keep them out front is that they have the batteries and the infrastructure to charge them.
