I'd expect it to just be mainly quality of life improvements.
Pass through seems reasonable
He's mentioned putting a flip stop on the tailgate to hold in plywood with the tailgate down
Steering wheel will change
I'm guessing updated interior storage places
The ratings are heavily weighted towards .. "driver engagement". Where Telsa fails in their eyes, is that the Tesla is good enough that people have enough confidence in it to not pay attention to the road. It's counter intuitive to me. The one that is the least likely to need an intervention...
It's really TBD on if the "base vehicle" will have a good sound system.
I will say .. i've added aftermarket sound systems in every car I've ever owned. My Model 3 LR AWD (so has premium interior with the good sound system) is the first car I've ever owned that i have no need/desire to upgrade...
Agreed .. Just saying the baseline to the level of required "perfection" required for regulatory approvals for robotaxi on a mass scale are HUGE and will not be closed within 2 years.
10000% disagree if you are talking about robotaxi. I'd agree if you are talking about FSD in the current state (with a required driver sitting behind the wheel). People are willing to accept that other people are not perfect .. i agree. They aren't willing to accept that a machine .. that...
I don't have the beta. Either way, from what I've seen it's 90% there. The problem is it's likely like most projects especially software. It takes 50% of the effort to get 90% of the features. The remaining 10% of features/reliability takes the remaining 50% of effort. Normal software can...
FSD will not be ready for robotaxi during the time I own a Cybertruck, I've used the currently version .. it's not close to not needing a driver .. so no not planning on robotaxi.
For a personal vehicle, no way I would let other people in my vehicle unsupervised.
I believe this is ONLY true if you trade the car back in to Tesla. They will remove it (as they can, since they own the car at that point) before reselling it. I've only see one error case where someone bought a used Tesla and the FSD was removed. Otherwise it stays with the car and you...
While i agree it wont ever be 10 dollars or 20 a month, but i think it does make financial sense to make the subscription price less than the price of FSD/5years. There is a reason most major software companies are going to a subscription model.
Using an example. Let's say the "break even"...
That was my concern coming from a Model 3. If it was ONLY the rearview on the screen, it would be a huge problem IMO. If they have a dedicated "screen" in the place of the rear view, then i can see it being very useful. Especially if they can find a way to blend the rearview + Side repeaters...
Gotcha. So is it a dedicated rear view mirror? I haven't seen that in any pictures. If so that would be really cool if it was a mirror that was set up as a camera.
Anyone have link where they show it or talk about it?
EDIT: Finally found a few links. Looks good to me.
So, i hopped on the train and reserved a Dual and Tri motor (will decide later which to get) with FSD. I just got a Model 3 LR AWD in March but decided I can replace my beater 98 S10 and my Model 3 with a Cybertruck before my S10 craps out (gotta have a truck around the house).
So as I'm...
