I agree with you. Translucent aluminum is very dense and the surface is smooth so nothing sticks to it, unlike glass. I use Rain X to spray on the windows of my truck and I do not turn my wipers on in light rain. This window material on the CT is like having super Rain X.
I understand your statement now. I think all types of Tesla vehicles will be needed for robotaxis. Hopefully, Tesla will continue to produce vehicles for the private and commercial sector, but they would definitely make more money producing for the commercial sector. I am not sure Musk is all...
The CT manufacturing run will not be short lived, unless you call 1.5 million vehicles 'short lived'. This doesn't include new orders.
An angular body means cheap production costs.
.30 drag coefficient is better than all trucks and most cars.
No paint means cheap production cost.
Thick steel...
Cameras give a more complete picture. If someone swerves into your lane from the side or back of you, and you have FSD, your vehicle would take evasive action. Same would be true for any unsafe events in front of you. Computer reaction time is faster than human reaction time.
I have heard Tesla has taken out a patent for a self inflation hub design....inflate the tires from inside the cab. Don't know if this will cover the entire line (rear wheel drive, dual motor, tri-motor) or just on the most expensive CTs.
Tesla doesn't have dealerships. They have distribution/service points. There will be no price gouging. You will deal directly with Tesla online. Not sure about accessories....but if there are any, it will be through Tesla online. And then, of course, there will be aftermarket accessories.
I am not sure when you wrote this. If you look at a five month comparison between Giga Berlin and Giga Texas, Texas is ahead. Buildings are being constructed at Texas, while there are no buildings in the Berlin shot. Texas is also working 3 shifts (around the clock). Texas will be finished in...
Tesla is lobbying the NHTSA so the Cybertruck will not have to have side mirrors....or wipers. Not sure how that is progressing. Cybertruck production is still 9 or 10 months away, so it may not have these items. Cameras are safer and give a more complete picture and wipers may be replaced by...
I think Crissa is right. Your order number will determine the price of FSD, if you chose it when you ordered. I ordered a tri-motor, then changed it to a dual motor, and changed it again back to a tri-motor, but did not alter the FSD. I am expecting to pay $7000 for FSD. Tesla (and Musk) are not...
On the Munro tear down I did see tubing that was for the wiring. I think the CT will be superior to ICE vehicles in the way it protects wiring. The CT supposedly can float for a brief period...probably not forever....but this would mean tolerances are tighter. Just my two cents worth.
This designer says he doesn't like the utilitarian and brutal design of the Cybertruck. I love it. It's a freakin' truck, for chrissakes. The Buick body curves would be double the cost to manufacture. I am not sure I would want to take the Buick off road.
I also have questions about the FSD. I ordered a couple of days after the reveal and specified FSD. This showed up on my order at $7000. Now when I look at my order the FSD is $10000. I thought the early reservation would preserve my initial FSD cost of $7000, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I worked in Saudi. We had Hummers.....without the cab controlled tire inflation option, bc we were told it was a maintenance issue. If Tesla has developed a reliable system, it would be awesome bc having to get out and inflate or deflate tires in sandstorms, ice storms (Iraqi border), rain...
I hope the cab controlled tire inflation-deflation is an available option. I worked in Saudi....an extreme case I know.....and if our Humvees would have had this option it would have saved countless hours. Also hope the wall behind the back seats can be lowered to increase cargo space. This will...
I don't think the Fed will let the legacy car manufacturers go under. They will bail them out which probably in the long run is better because the competition will be intense and it will force everyone to innovate. Tesla is very good at innovating and not sitting on their ass, so they will...
