I disagree that 4 motors makes it a real truck. My Ram 2500 has one motor, under the hood, it's definitely a real truck. I don't think number of motors is a huge factor as long as it is capable of moving the truck as specified.
Agreed. I can't imagine how a weight distributing hitch works with the Euro style. If there is a WDH available for euro style, it would be much less common than what is generally used in the US, making them more expensive and with fewer brands/models to choose from.
Rivian has a tow capacity of 11k lbs, but with payload of only 1760 lbs, you will never get closer to that, unless you are alone in your truck and not carrying much else. A family of five, some firewood and a cooler can easily use up 900lbs of payload, and you only have 860 lbs left for tongue...
My 2004 Nissan Titan had factory installed T slot tracks on the floor of the bed. Worked great. They had a rubber insert that slid in place when you weren't using them. I hauled sand, dirt, tied down riding mower, moved appliances, etc. Certainly hope the Cyber truck has similar tie down tracks.
Definitely a daily driver, will replace the 2013 Leaf (or it's replacement, probably a couple years until my CT reservation comes up). I will keep the 2010 Ram 2500 Megacab for long distance towing, but it will basically sit for most of the year.
As others said... Meh. I only read the first part, until I got to the point where it said the study ended in 2017. Pretty much all but Tesla EVs had about a 70 mile range until then... Things have changed a lot in the last 4 years, with EVs.
Just for info, payload matters when talking about towing, because you almost always max your payload, way before hitting the max trailer weight. Tongue weight, passengers, weight distributing hitch, anything in the bed, all count towards payload, and with tongue weight equaling 15% of trailer...
Actually only said it once, though "firsttruck" said similar and at a glance the username looks the same, but it's not me.
It's not that I just want a square back pickup, I have done a lot of research on 5th wheels and the clearances are already tight for a traditional 6.5' bed when making...
No way will a normal 5th wheel work, in a normal configuration. I also wish the sail panel were removable, would make it more versatile for different uses. But as mentioned probably not coming that way as OEM.
The article is basically complete BS. Well not BS as much as pure imagination. Just some rando's idea of what an Apple Car will be like in 5 and a half decades.
I am sure there will be a wireless charging pad in the truck for a phone. If not I'll just install a wireless charging mount like in all my other vehicles, for a grand total of about 40 bucks.
As far as a wireless charger for the vehicle battery, my current Leaf takes me 5 seconds to plug it...
