  1. Gigapress For Cybertruck

Elon said the larger 8k ton Gigapress for the CT was needed to accommodate the larger size of the CT body. To me that makes it more clear that, although the exterior of CT will be exoskeleton, the bumper supports, suspension, and most certainly the trailer hitch mounting points, will all be...
  2. Cybertruck’s Yoke-Style Steering Wheel Revealed by Way of Model S and X Updated Interiors?!

My BMW R1200GS has left blinker on left cluster, right blinker on right cluster, press both to cancel. Love the set up.
  3. It's time for Prevost to go all-electric

That was awesome. I own an ex-Greyhound, a 1964 GM PD4106. I don't think I'm allowed to admit here that I love the sound of that supercharged 2 stroke diesel engine......
  4. Chassis Materials (Stainless or traditional steel)?

At work we often have to bolt steel to aluminum. We use a thick mylar tape between the two materials. It works till the mylar ages out.
  5. can the cybertruck use/work with 5th wheel trailers

I think a gooseneck trailer will be fine. A true "5th wheel" trailer will be very tight when turning. I'm sure we'll see plenty of damages CT sails in the future.
  6. Die cast model ?

Ah, that further supports my guess that new diecast models are in the works.
  7. can the cybertruck use/work with 5th wheel trailers

They aren't cheap but I've seen them on the road.
  8. Die cast model ?

    Was that recently?
  9. Baby Name

My dogs name is Tesla. Poor thing goes into stim overload when I listen to Youtube and podcasts relating to Tesla!
  10. Die cast model ?

I check the Telsa site every day for a CT diecast. They did lower the price from $250 to $175 on first the S and X diecasts, then 3 weeks ago all the diecasts. I suspect they are clearing out the old inventory of toys for the "new" models of the updated SEXY cars. I *hope* they make a CT...
  11. Chassis Materials (Stainless or traditional steel)?

Ah, Bryan from Oregon! Fellow AOF member! Yes, the Alta is what really opened my eyes to Tesla! I bought the Alta on a whim, then it blew my mind with its performance! It immediately became my favorite motorcycle. When I heard about the CT, and it being stainless steel, I knew it was for...
  12. Chassis Materials (Stainless or traditional steel)?

I hope you're right! I agree that spot welding would be ideal, it's fast, easy and cheap. I hope that Tesla can do that without heat soaking through the SS panels. I have my doubts. Maybe Tesla (or the car industry) has a better solution than spot welding, and better suggestion that I...
  13. Armor Glass Windshield

This is, indeed, the case. No cracks allowed. With 30 tractors in our fleet, every month one or two are getting a windshield. Definitely a PITA.
  14. Chassis Materials (Stainless or traditional steel)?

This question is a biggie for me. I really hope that the inside door stampings are made of stainless steel. If they aren't, they will eventually rust. I really wonder how the inside door stamping is attached to the 3mm SS door skin. Can't be spot welded without discoloring the outer door...
  15. First look at Tesla’s new structural battery pack that will power future vehicles

Well look at that. This partially assembled battery module was designed by an ex Tesla battery engineer. The 18650 cells pictured here are epoxied to an aluminum plate that acts as a heat sink. The cells are not removable. Given that, there is no "fixing" a pack with a bad cell. The entire...
  16. Is this the motocycle to go with the Cybertruck?

I really like this one. It's more "Cybertruck-esque"
  17. Is this the motocycle to go with the Cybertruck?

It's 14hp. It has a hub motor. It's $5k It's a non-starter. But, "The Crapshoot" is based off an Alta drivetrain. 50hp. Obviously this a one off drag bike, but it would still look awesome in the back of a CT!
  18. Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so says Musk!

Yup. Did you see Sandy Munroe's latest video that dropped today? 2021 M3 panel gaps still WAY off. Paint is much better, though! lol
  19. Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so says Musk!

Um, yeah. 5 panels need to be aligned. Hood and four doors. Here's the issue. Typically the fender is adjusted to the door gap (after the door is properly set). In a normal car there's lots of movement in the front fenders, nose, hood, etc. Most cant see 1mm of panel adjustment. Not...
