Will you use Cybertruck as a daily driver? What are you trading in?

I have two pickup trucks, one is a work truck with toolboxes. I'm replacing both with my CT for daily driver and work vehicle.

I'll trade in my 2012 ford focus. I've never spent more than $15k on a vehicle in my life.
I'll be "trading in" my 2002 Toyota Sienna (ahem ... Symphony Edition). I plan to replace the van with a truck since there's going to be a long wait for the CT and I need a truck, so I might be trading something else in. Looking for a manual Toyota or Ford Ranger. This will be a daily driver with my daily commute being only about 17 miles roundtrip. I do travel a little further for some gigs and of course family trips (i.e. hurricane evacuation).
I have also never spent more than $15K for a vehicle before. I wonder how many of us are out there. I will certainly make this a business purchase to help ease the burden.

Daily driver for me as well. I only own one vehicle, a 2018 4 Runner Off-road. I’ll probably just keep it, until I see how I adapt to electric vehicles. I live in rural Canada, and at the moment the charging stations are limited.

Yes DD, will be replacing our Mini Cooper.
Damm, you are gonna be so lost inside the cab of your CT, and please remember to rethink your parking requirements. Kind of reminds me of the full-grown Great Dane still trying to fit into its puppy size bed. Watch Out.

Daily driver here.

I won't be trading in anything. Both of our vehicles are paid off so we don't have any payments. My wife will sell her 2011 Durango when the time comes for her to buy something new, and I'll be giving my car to my daughter when she turns 16 in 2 years. In the meantime, I'm just putting a little aside (thinking about maybe buying TSLA stock with it) to use as a down payment, or even paid in full if I'm disciplined enough.

I will be getting rid of my fleet: 2002 F250 Diesel 4x4, 2004 Lexus gx470, second 2004 Lexus GX470, 2005 Honda Element, Honda Big Ruckus 250 (actually I'll probably keep), 2008 Moto Guzzi Griso, 2008 BMW R1200GSA, 1989 BMW R1100GS, 1999 Hewes Pathfinder Boat, Yamaha BW350. I'm starting to sell now. No I'm not kidding. Yes I'm psyched as heck about this CyberTruck. I need to switch to tri-motor if I get rid of my tow vehicle (for my skidsteer, tractor).

Driving my 3rd Toyota now, and will be selling a 2017 Toyota Tundra when my Tri-motor arrives. Cybertruck pays for itself over time. In my case I've drove 100k mi since 2016 at 15 mpg. That's at least $20k gas here is $3+ a gallon. The commies running Washington state just passed another 57-63 cent gastax 1/30/20 too.

I will sell my 2014 Toyota Tacoma limited with 65000 miles. I drive 1mile to the golf course and back every day. With solar cover, I will never charge unless going on a trip. I also have solar panels at home, so charging is next to nothing.

I'm excited to see these trucks start rolling around the streets. I plan to daily drive mine, however many of my students were surprised that this was going to be my primary vehicle.

I'll be trading in my 2018 VW Atlas and going all in, driving it daily. What is your plan?

Getting rid of a 2003 F150 4x4 with 250k miles. Rusted roof lets so much water in the biggest danger of drowning during a rainstorm is if I STAY INSIDE the truck too long. I have to get out every 15 minutes just to dry off!
CT is going to be so awesome! DD for sure!

The funny fact, when I placed my preorder on CT I sold my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and bought a 2013 Prius for 5grann. I count that I will lose on my Jeep much more than if I take a Prius and drive it for a couple of years. I will save on Jeep depreciation and on gas fueling Prius. I do not care about trading in Prius. I can drive it to the junkyard once my CT is ready

Hey, you never know. If there are more miles left on that Prius, let it go into the wilds. Better a Prius be someone's hoopty car than a Fiesta.

Good point! I put 40k miles on it in 2020. I guess I'll put even more this year and it already has 205k miles on it. I serviced it with a Toyota dealer but still, I think by the time I get my first CT I will drive it to the junkyard. Unless if someone wants to pick it up as is.....
