I’m confident the Cybertruck will be the safest pickup truck in its class. Besides computer simulations Tesla has their own crash testing facility at Fremont to perform real world testing.

2021 will be an exciting year for reservation holders with a final design revealed, final Beta testing, a new assembly plant, configuration e-mails for some lucky owners, etc.

Maybe this testing facility will reassure all the foreign worry-worts that they can get a Euro-compliant vehicle.

Apparently the seat testing and rules don't coincide and many seats might not be strong enough.

https://www.expertinstitute.com/res...suggests-potential-for-widespread-litigation/

But that a seat deflected in an accident is normal; you want them to take the damage so you don't.

Agreed-you want the seat to absorb some of the impact by having 'give' ,but also want to protect the little ones on the back seat as the seat back goes backwards...perhaps give to a point-but no further? These Tesla folks can make it happen ;)

Wonder if they are taking applications for "crash dummies" I know a few that would make fine specimens.

Thinking along these lines? I sat a few thousand hours on one of these and love'em. Model 272, IPECO, a British company, they turn out a fine chair. Charcoal filter extra. The CT would be totally BADA$$ with these in the cabin.

Ipeco Holdings Limited is an aerospace engineering company. The Company manufactures aircraft interiors, aircraft upholstery products, flight decks and galley equipment for commercial and military aircraft as well as power management products and machined components for the defense electronics and engineering industries. Ipeco operates in the United Kingdom and United States.

At IPECO We have designed an extensive range of seats, for commercial, business and military aircraft (and TESLA Cybertrucks if Elon asks us) which have been developed around ergonomic principles to provide comfort for flight crew, particularly during long-haul flights especially to grandmothers house across country.

Our seats feature electrically powered or manually adjustable vertical and horizontal positioning, both of which offer exceptional reliability, quality of movement, and ease of use. The application of medical research and anthropomorphic data has led to the incorporation of the fully contoured pan and back cushions and a full range of adjustment features. Typical adjustments include thigh angle, horizontal and vertical lumbar, headrest rotation, armrest angle, and recline angle. Our unique full upper seat tilt feature provides a true resting position accommodating a wide variation of occupant sizes.

Working closely with our customers, each model is developed to incorporate requirements specific to the installation and environment. Aesthetics such as color, design, branding, and trim can all be tailored to meet the stringent demands of both airline operators and private owners.

I think the impact obstructions will need to be beefed up a bit for the Cyber Truck. I pity the poor SOB that gets hit by a Cyber Truck.
