T-slots in bed of vault

I see what appears to be T slots in the vault floor I wonder how hard these are going to be to clean after a load of sand or gravel

That’s what I do now in my Honda ridgeline it has a fibre bottom .the tarp always rips

Set up like loading a quad and then pressure wash. Use the built in air compressor and blow out the channel you need to tie down too. I don’t think it will be to bad to deal with.

T-slot cover strips exist 3rd party. Many options available. I plan on using for the bed and remove for exception need. Otherwise, the side rails meet my typical need. At least what I think, in use, I may find the bed rails more versatile.

I plan to ignore the slots. For anybody who ever loads dirt, gravel, yard waste, demolition debris, etc., they will get jammed with small pebbles eventually. Murphy says that said pebble will be exactly the perfect size to wedge in the slot such that it cannot slide out easily. Counting on those slots to be convenient is going to be a huge waste of time someday.

If you ever load dirt in a truck bed, you quickly realize that it gets unloaded with a shovel that scrapes the bottom of the bed. The smoother the better. Those slots are going to be annoying.

Also, the edge of that hatch will be annoying anytime a shovel or a pitch-fork is involved. Maybe I will just have it welded shut and ground flush and smooth.

Why not just throw a sheet metal plate the size of the bed, back there. And remove it if you need the slots.

They also make t slot covers that sit flush with the deck. They are seen on cnc machine decks. IMO CT will probably come with the slots covered.

I definitely think that the covers will be a necessity but do love how this will just add to the versatility. As stated above, cleaning can be accomplished with a pressure washer and/or air compressor. It’s a thumbs up from me! That with the L track should provide every combination of tie down or accessory attachment that I could possibly need.

Another reason I think the slots will come covered in some grippy material. The bed will be very slippery if it is just smooth metal. There are similar "slots" on the ramp and their only function could be to hold anti-slip strips. However I do believe they are t slots and not just grippy material. This will allow craftsmen to mount their equipment...
