Sliding Doors on Cybertruck

Typical car doors are awkward to open and close in tight garages and parking lots.

So! How about a sliding panel door on each side of Cybertruck? It would eliminate the swinging door issue and maximize ease of access to cabin.

For front door opening, the panel would slide back partially, for back door it would continue sliding back.

There was a car I saw that had front sliding doors, they went forward.
Not sure it was this car, but this gets the idea across.

But seriously, with the angled roof, it'd be really tough to make sliders work. It's a bad idea made worse by a sloped roof, just don't.

At first I though it is dumb idea because those doors always have problems over time. But then I thought, Elon's team will make them work in a cool way. I owned many trucks and the big doors are not easy in parking lots.

I am looking forward to being able to pull the truck out of spots till the doors are no longer pinned in by vehicles on either side and allowing to get in. One time I had to crawl through my car from the back hatch because people had parked so close on both sides.

? I wish any car ever made had sliding doors implemented before minivans. Connotation is too strong!

I’ve always seen SUVs and vans as the same concept, different connotation. Sliding doors were the best aspect of the minivan.

People drive pickups and SUVs instead of vans these days simply to avoid the cultural minivan association. Typically, for the same terrible MPG, minivans have more utility for hauling stuff around and keeping it dry.

It’s great to see pickup beds used, but I typically see nothing in them ;-) Glamour vehicles in the guise of utility

We've had a number of minivans and currently have Nissan NVP 3500 van (all with sliding doors). I hate these doors. They almost always seem to have mechanical problems and they freeze during winter. It's pain, especially during winter mornings when children need to be dropped off at schools.
