Understand that Tesla is using camera and sensors for handling full self drive (and auto pilot) I'm curious how the Tesla line (all vehicles) handle dense fog and heavy smoke situations. Any experience or understanding. Thanks

The radar can see through smoke/fog (can be useful). The sonar sensors can see through smoke/fog. The cameras cannot see through smoke and fog. The autopilot uses the cameras to see the white lines or road edge to keep itself centered in its lane. Given that, what do you think might happen when those are not visible?

It says it can't see and alerts the driver. Does the same for glare.

In many cases around here, people drive completely inappropriately - some slow down even though their visual distance hasn't been lowered, while other speed through even though they can't see their stopping distance.

It'll be interesting to see how autopilot can sense these things and adapt to them.
