Print that and seal it in an envelope. Open the envelope after you have driven a BEV for a month or so.Part of the allure of the CT is it's appearance. If I wanted another truck that looked like a truck and wanted to spend 60 plus grand I'd just buy the Boss Lady and new Ram 3500 with the diesel.
Let me see if I understand the math in the video. The baseline Rivian comes with 4 motors and a 100 kWh battery and is expected to sell for 60K. Assuming $200/kWh for battery (and Tesla is hoping to push to uder half that this year) that's $20K or about 1/3 of the vehicle's selling price. Seems about right. Now we keep the same 4 motors and other goodies but increase the battery size by 80% adding $16K at the selling price and get 60K + 16K = 120K. Did I do that right?
Reverting to serious mode for a moment I think the biggest threat to Rivian is timing relative to CT and the eternal elephant in the room, the charging network. I really hope they get to market well before the CT because I really want to see some competition in the space. But I also know you can't get a baby in less than 9 moths by putting more men on the job.
6.5 ft, even betterI can't live with 4.5 ft bed. I'm so glad CT has 6 ft bed otherwise I would have had to get a ford.
