A good rule is 1/3 the cost of gasoline if you are refuelling at home. Solar is a separate issue entirely and the economics depends on your site (orientation, shading, structure) and local utility rates and rules.
I have a rather different take. I have always owned trucks btw.
1. The competition’s trucks by 2022 are more expensive by far and less capable, and the sweet spot in the truck market is 6.5 foot box crew-cabs. Exactly what CT is and the competition isn’t.
2. World economy. During a...
500 miles is already awesome .. 560 is just icing on the cake. I’m sure Tesla could go higher yet, but why? At some point it makes more sense to pump out more trucks instead of increasing battery size further.
I agree. The gas-heads probably don’t even realize what they are missing. If I wanted an off-road dedicated truck, and value wasn’t an issue, I’d buy a Hummer over the Rivian. If I wanted a capable all-around EV truck, Cybertruck is the only choice.
Noise is inefficiency and it is annoying. Why would anyone want to annoy the people around them .. other people certainly do not want to hear you ‘roar’ .. beyond what is required for safety of course.
Agree 100% .. my expectation is Tesla releases a few different batteries. The new leaked batteries are likely just for Semi and Plaid cars. M3/Y will get Lithium iron cells with a million mile duty cycle maybe and a price drop once implemented ... or something like that.
In my experience, it is people who do not have much experience with EVs that are worried about range, refuelling, etc., Sounds like you want to gain some experience .. so that is awesome. I think once you experience the EV lifestyle you will have more confidence in Cybertruck meeting your...
50 amp breaker, 40 amp charging should be fine. I installed 80 amps for my MS, but never use it at 80 amps .. no need. Tesla wall chargers are nice and not expensive ... installed It myself and saved a lot!
I see little value in a spare since tires are so good nowadays. I drive a lot .. 2X the national average ... and I’ve had just 2 tire issues in the past 30 years. I’m fine without.
No question Cybertruck will tow. With 1000 est HP & torque the only question is range. The key advantage to EVs is lower costs and longevity. Cybertruck will cut fuel costs by 2/3, will be much lower in repairs and maintenance, and will likely last 3X longer. While an ICE will likely tow a...
Hmm .. you seem to have left out information. EVs shine in cost of ownership as well as performance. Run the math again with fuel savings, maintenance savings, and 3 X longer lifespan included .. and the EV comes out on top by an incredible margin. The dual motor and tri motor also btw.
My business focuses on Return on Investment (ROI). My recommendation to people is to think like a utility company .. meaning long-term. Your array will generate for 30+ years and there is a good chance that you will be using more electricity in the future because of EVs and the electrification...
It would probably cost about $1,500 - $2,000 to remove your system from your roof .. and then the cost of putting up a field array. It would likley make more sense, given how cheap everything is now-a-days, to simply add a new field array to complement what you have. Need more info really to...
I’ve owned trucks all my life ... from chey to ford to Toyota to Dodge. Cybertruck is so far ahead of all of these that it was a no-brainer to order the tri-motor.
