And bear in mind, most sedans and hatchbacks nowadays have that same idea of dropping the rear seats for more loading capacity without the concern of front cab safety (I might add).
Agreed. But, imagine you have that "once a year load", so you take the rear bench out, drop the rear window down into the rear wall and fold the wall forward down so that the bed becomes one flat surface. Front cab safety could be given with an additional rail system of sorts (idk).
Or, one just...
We are also avid RVers and I asked about flat-towing the X before it came out.
As stated by the very knowledgable gentlemen above, it should be doable.
Maybe even charge the vehicle towing down the road until full, and then "switch off"?
It sounds to me more like an issue Tesla doesn't...
To the 6' vs. 8' bed:
Maybe one idea would (could), be to have the rear bench including cab wall fold (or temporary removed), to turn a 6' into a 8' vault??
Now don't slam me, (and I'm no automotive engineer or designer).
Just a crazy idea and probably never doable.
Hello All,
So what is the latest speculation as to which motor configuration comes first, second, last?
When will they start rolling out?
Thanks,
Thomas
For us it was always the tri motor.
We are considering our CT to replace the business truck, adventure all wheeler, AND motorhome. So we want most power and range available. Speed is not really our goal, (won't mind "smoking" a few Corvettes and Porsches though;) ).
I totally agree. Ever since the semi was introduced I dreamed of a motorhome conversion.
Slideouts and awnings on both sides could aid in solar square footage, (if this would be a necessity).
Now the only thing Elon and Tesla needs to implement is the possibility to "flat-tow" all of it's...
I agree. I also wouldn't want yet another piece to deal with at home and or around campgrounds.
I'm pretty sure all will be figured out by the time the CT rolls off the line
True. Although from a power standpoint the Tri CT is hardly a 150 anymore.
And I seriously hope the CT will be considered a work horse rather than a Hollywood toy, so towing should be one of the main concerns.
Hopefully Tesla already has different configurations planned (I.e. Low bed, flat bed...
not sure how many (if any), Tesla engineers read this forum but this is definitely a question that will have to be seriously investigated rather than just speculated about. Fivers are after all a big market in the rv and transport world
Hello All,
Not sure if this has been addressed before but we are planning on towing a 5th wheel and were wondering if the slanted side rails might pose a problem with the trailer turning in tight corners.
Any thoughts?
